Nashville really finds themselves in a tough spot now if Spezza really wont waive to go there. As someone mentioned before, this could be a move to try to get more money out of Nashville. But if he really wont go there it doesn't leave a whole ton of great options for them. They don't attract really attract the bigger UFAs so BRichards and Statsny might be out of the question. Mike Richards at this point doesnt really bring the offense they need. Unless they somehow convince Jumbo Joe to go there Vinny might be be the most realistic option(assuming he would accept the trade.) |

I don't think Spezza is a UFA, so I don't see it as a play to get more money. He just doesn't want to go there. I think if Mike Richards is put in a different role, as a 2nd line center, the offense is still there.

Im just assuming he wants to talk extension before waiving to go to any team. Im assuming the Sens will allow it so they get the best return possible. |

They can talk extension, but nothing can be done until July 1.

Really intrigued by the 6th round pick... Radel Fazleev.
It seems like a boom or bust pick which is usually the case in later rounds. Kid put up some decent numbers in his first season in the WHL and stepped it up in his teams 6 playoff games, looks like a playmaker for sure.
He might be a guy who never plays in tthe NHL for different reasons maybe not good enough or he goes to russia for money, but the fact that he decided to go and play in WHL at the very least shows he's got higher aspirations.
I also love the other euro Lindblom, sounds like a banger in the dirty areas. |

Spezza would be a perfect fit there from a coaching standpoint. What they have on the backend and the new add of James Neal. Is Spezza even attention? He could put that team over the top...maybe even likable. |

I think Jesper Pettersson is a interesting pick, small but a really feisty player........was suspended at the WJC this past year |

Reminds me of the bertilsson pick a few years ago. Not really that big, solid stay at home defenseman, except this guy sounds more physical.
Was he one of the swedes that got into it with the russians? |

Hagg and Pettersson I'm sure will be an expected pair within our system. |

Myself & Jsaq in walking around today ran into Bill Daily........oddly enough security didn't escort us out. - ob18
Were you the guys last night who could be heard saying "Eff you, Pierre" and "You suck, Pierre" when they were having the roundtable with James Duthie, Pierre, and whoever else?

There was a group of guys about 3 rows in front of us who wouldn't stop trying to gain the attention of Pierre and shockingly it didn't work. |

Good question, I'd assume all the other stuff that Gary doesn't want to do or doesn't feel like doing. |

I don't think they'll have to settle for just anyone. Mike Riberio is out there now, pretty decent playmaking center. He just needs a tune up as far as attitude. Joe Thornton might be on the block. Mealeau. Much better options. |
