Just a rumor update that I've seen stumbling around: apparently Philly and Florida have agreed on a trade involving Vincent Lecavalier, but it won't transact until "July 2nd" because Lecavalier is due $2m in bonus monies on 1-July. I don't know how legitimate this is. It could have legs, it could be rolling around like a marble. But professional minds have seemed to agree Vincent has played his last game in a Flyers sweater. Take that as you will.

It's comical really. Vinny was a shiney new toy and they had to have him. Now they have trip wires through out his house hoping he gets a career ending injury.

They knew he wasn't a fast skater and were shocked that he didn't turn into a defensive center with blazing speed.

I so hope the Flyers stay away from Stralman and Boyle. I wouldn't mind Niskanen but his offensive production (46 points) is because of the team he played on. Need to make sure we don't sign players to huge contracts who are incapable of living up to the #'s.

going back and watching it again, the cheers Brind'amour got last night was something special, and you could tell he was even struck by it.

After a 3-4 year ban, I have returned.

Boring draft last night to say the least. They normally are though, so really we get too fired up for something big by buying into rumors and are left disappointed when they never happen.

When I left, me and MJL were arguing over Randy Jones. I said resigning him was stupid because he's not an NHL dman. He said he obviously is an NHL dman and a decent 3rd pairing dman.

The Flyers constantly sign undrafted players over seas or coming out of university all the time. I'm really not that worried about the thin crop of forwards we have.

I wasn't banned because of him though, that much I remember.

You know, even if they have to send Vinnie and pick #48 to FLA for Upshall and their 4th rounder, I'd do it happily if that gets Vinnie fully off the books.

edit: they could then buyout Upshall and only carry a 2 year cap hit of 1.166 million, which would free up 3.334 million on this years cap.

Well if they're actively trying to move him a year later, it also has to be labeled as a terrible signing, especially if Lava was on such thin ice he was able to be canned after 3 games. This whole situation was poorly done by the Flyers IMO, though done before Hextall was around. He may just want to be rid of it all

If a GM is willing to hurt his team to any length to undo a mistake of his predecessor them I question his ability to be a professional GM. You may not like the team you are given but it is your job to play the hand you've got and manage all assets to the best of your ability. I'm saying, only trade Vinny in a deal that is best for the team, not just to get rid of him at any cost.
