Like I said was just an example..
Could do Grigerenko St. Louis 1st and maybe Compher?? or Pysyk.. - bluengold12
And what has Kane done that we should give that much away for him . He is having problems on and off the ice . He had a 30 goal season . Amazing !!! What did he do last year ? Has he lead a team deep into the playoffs ? |

Yeah this is what LA did and it worked out great for them.. Sure Simmons is really good but you don't see Phili winning any cups yet. doesn't have to even be E Kane. Could be someone like Eberle or a playoff tested guy like a Richards but a bit younger. - bluengold12
Don't know how people here feel about him but I think Larsson could become available/a good pick up. I don't know where Edmonton stands on Eberle but I'm a big fan so I'd welcome him here as well. |

What about doing something like Grigorenko and Baptiste plus St Louis's 1st next year for E Kane? Not saying these players are set in stone just saying that could be something similar where we can say Grigs could still be a very good player and Baptiste tore it up last year in juniors could be a semi fair trade at least a start. - bluengold12
Not a bad proposal. I know baptiste only has proven himself at the junior level, but he put up some great numbers! Im not sure if i would want to include him in a deal unless it was for a sure fire #1 center. I think he could be a late pick diamond in the rough type of guy. Just my personal opinion though |

That's all hearsay at this point, there isn't a single well documented/legitimate report to suggest this.
He may just need a change of scenery or coaching. You often mention that Myers carries plenty of value because of the stuff he has you can't teach. Same goes for Evander Kane. That size with that speed and that skill is too much to ignore because of some un confirmed rumors and an instagram photo.
I wouldn't overpay for him, as you mentioned he's yet to take that next step, but he's definitely got the right tools. |

IMO it's going to cost a roster player like Ennis, Ehrhoff, Myers or Hodgson to get Kane. - SABRES 89
I'd be fine with giving up any of those players for Kane.
Ennis, Baptiste and St Louis's 1st for E Kane |

Problem is one player is not going to turn it around . What has Eberle done ? Oilers can't make the playoffs either . As miserable as it sounds . This is going to take time and patience . Our young players need to develop . They are not just going to come in and dominate.

Adam Larsson the defenseman from the Devils? I mean I like him but don't know enough about him to throw away quality prospects. |

I'm fine with the centers we have. I think now we need big skilled wingers who can score and compliment are centers Reinhart, Girgensons heck even throw in Ennis and Grigerenko.. That's why I'd prefer a E Kane or Eberle or a guy similar who has played in the playoffs. I like Baptiste's potential as well but what if this year was just a fluke.. If the Jets were to ask for Baptiste as part of the deal for E Kane then unless Murray is 100% confident Baptiste will be a star maybe its best to trade high with him. |

Easy to say . You think the players are trying to lose ? We are rebuilding . Our core was not working together . We traded them all away for picks . We are rebuilding with picks . You get enough assets through picks you can make trades. Many teams have done the same and been successful . Like the team down the road from you in Chicago did . Detroit used to own them . They rebuilt through high picks and now they own Detroit . Not a hard concept to understand . - Maximum Signal
I don't mean to make it sound easy. It's just not ALL about those high picks. Eichel and McDavid. To me anyone who says they're aiming for McDavid... What's the difference in saying trying to lose?

It is documented . He is a coach Killer . Got one fired and already on the outs with the new one . Maybe he is at the age where he is rebelling . Maybe he grows out of it and achieves his massive potential . Or maybe he spends a career just going through the motions . People forget these kids are young and sometimes their head gets screwed up by the sudden fame . Mario Lemieux had Crosby live with him first 2 years in the league to keep him insulated . Sometimes these teams don't consider how fragile these great athletes can be when they are young.

Most Sabres fans want the tank to continue and IMO that's a bad idea, can't have all these young kids and have them play and continue to loose it's sets a bad example and doesn't teach them anything. Gotta have the right amount of vets mixed in and have them teach along they way, i'm not saying we will make the playoffs next year but tanking for a number 1 pick does not help these kids learn. |

They are aiming to rebuild the core they have 3 first round picks next year . If we get Mcdavid or Eichel , wonderful . But we are still going to get 3 more good players. It does not happen overnight . This team was stripped down to the core . It is being rebuilt up from the ground up . Consider yourself Lucky Detroit has not had to go through this , YET ! |

The point is they all should not be here anyway they should be in junior or the AHL next year at least |

It is going to happen . Mr Murray feels you have to develop them at their own pace . Why subject them to massive losing. One of the reasons for Detroit's long term success is their player development . They never rush players up . You could say they over develop their prospects . When they do come up . , they are ready and usually stay up . They are not riding the bus back and forth between Detroit and Grand Rapids. |

Never see Detroit do that . They develop their players . They have time and patience . When do you see their draft picks not spend a prolonged period in Grand Rapids . |
