I don't see the Leafs having much cap space... Maybe one guy if their lucky, of which they will find a way to overpay... Oh, personally none of these guys makes any sense, save Stastny, but they won't have enough space unless they move out either one of the albatrosses or someone of value... - aminnes
They will have enough cap space depending on who they resign themselves. |

He's a free agent right? So everyone involved can suggest which league will be best for him.
Even though I'm of the opinion it would be a step backwards, is there a CHL team that owns his rights? - BetterCallSaul
They can, but he's not really a free agent per say. His rights are owned by MODO so if he does go back to Sweden they control where he plays, aka they can loan him out to the Allsvenskan. |

Do you think Nylander was the best player available? - BetterCallSaul I'm not knocking the talent of the kid. But to me we already have speedy offensive talents in Kessel, Jvr, Kadri. People wined that we were destroyed by Lucic in the playoffs and kept chirpin "oh man do we ever wish we had a big powerfull forward that could punish people and put up points at the same time". Well guess what. He was right there for the taking at 8. But nope we draft a Kadri 2.0 again and in 3 or 4 years from now we'll be talkin about if we trade Nylander ++ at the draft could move up a few spots and get that elusive player we need. Its a revolving marrygoround with the leafs.

Playing North American hockey under an experienced coach (Dale Hunter) wouldn't be detrimental to his progress. - JohnFergusonJr
Maybe not, I don't know enough about the development of your average hockey player to have a definite opinion. I just believe that if you're playing against men in a professional league, and holding your own by all accounts, playing against kids could cause a shift in this kid's progress. |

I think it's very possible we get boyle. Polak will probobly play with one of the kids then either gardiner or Rielly will play with #3. I would prefer to have boyle playing with him. - JVR_42_PK81
They have 4 under contract now. Checking out capgeek and Gardiner is gonna be signed. That leaves Franson. If they do go out and get Boyle. Somebody has to be traded.
Need a back up.
And 5-6 forwards signed up.
20 mil to do so |

The free agents or Marlies. For example I they don't resign Raymond they have some money to sign a free agent that they would of signed Raymond with. |

Time will tell, bud. If the kid turns out to be Giroux then we will invoke everyone's jealousy. If he's Kadri without the edge then it was a bad pick.
I'm going to cheer the kid on now as he's only 18 and a member of the team I'm a fan of. |

It's just as likely the Leafs will give some guy a shot to prove his worth and do the same thing Raymond did last year. |

Don't forget about Thornton. Wasn't there a little chit chat about him? - weirdoh
I hope they go after Bissonnette instead of Thornton .... if they want that type of player. Take a chance he may be ready to break through full-time like Thornton did 8 or so years ago.
Maybe guys like Fiddler (replacement for McClement) or Vitale (instead of Komarov) as exciting possibilities to fill out the 4th line. |

Kulemin 2.8 million and Bolland made what last year? Not even close, based on what they might get in free agency yes, but not at their current rates... So it is not equivalent because they couldn't resign those guys at those rates... |

JVR is close to being similar to Lucic. He isn't as mean but hes big, fast and puts up points. A little more defensive and use of his size and he would be the best player on the teeam. |
