we don't pick until round four - Reveen
Our round two pick was put to good use. I like that grab by St. Louis. |

We drafted the 18th ranked European with 91. He's a left shot defenseman though. Gotta think we start to move some of them |

Great grab by the Oilers. I'm jealous you guys landed him and I think he may be one if the best guys out of this first round in the long run. Great, great pick. - SmielmaN

Seriously....even that big bastard Maroon that played this year. Where the (frank) did that big bastard come from?
With Gibson in net they will win a cup in the next couple of years. |

It's all a gamble when you start talking about fourth round picks of any type. I do agree that the Oil have more potential NHL defense men in the minors than they will ever have room for. Still it is not a bad position to be in. I think there will be a time when we can part with dmen of talent and I think it is about 2 years away. Especially if we can land a 1-2 guy this year. |

Sounds like he's more of a stay at homer. Needs a bit of work on his skating but likes to play rough.
My intial reaction is that Musil, Simpson and Lagesson are all varying levels of the same player. |

Yeah that's what I hear. I'm really confident in MacT and his drafting ability. He seemed pretty confident about making good use of his later picks |

A strong defenseman that can put up some points, but plays more convincingly in his own zone. Likes to get involved in the rough stuff and has a pretty good physical game. Strong positionally, but could work some on his skating skills. (EP 2014)
That's from elite prospects.

Maybe. I think their defense is still a question and it is tough to look at Boston, Pitts, LA, St. Louis and even Mon and say for certain that any team is going to win the cup. The good teams still have a lot of young talent and most with really strong goalies that have years left in them. |

Would love to get Boychuk but the Bruins would trade others before him.
We need size up front; guys like Brouwer or Ward who can be very effective. Would love to see something like Hall-Nuge-Brouwer on first line.

@nielsonTSN1260: Lagesson was ranked 71st by ISS, 91st by Hockey News, 18th among International Skaters by Central Scouting, 90th by McKeens. |

Unless Boston trades Seidenberg I see Boychuk as the person they are trying to trade. They want to sign Iggy and they have dmen to spare. Boychuk is the only one they can part with that has a contract that would make any difference to them cap wise. Unless they are parting with a big name up front, Boychuk is on the table. I don't think he is our answer though. Not long term. |

Wow, they really have a hard on for Polak. That is a terrible trade. Still I don't know if it was worse than Van's Garrison trade. I am liking MacT more everyday. |

MacT and all GMs must rely on the scouting staff to recommend picks. Our record in later rounds is average at best. Teams like Det, L.A., Chi & Ana have scored very well in later rounds, but that's due to their scouts convincing their GM to pick certain players. |

Good article on Lagesson - CrustyRooster
Yeah, great article, thank you. He sounds like a great pick for the 4th round. Nicely done. Did we make our second 4th round pick yet? |

Our record is getting a lot better. Take Greg Chase for example. A late pick and he has a tryout for Canada's WJ team this year. Not bad. I am liking the picks since MacT took over. |

Spencer Watson is the only player ranked in my top-22 among OHLers (I have him No. 13) that hasn't been drafted yet. |
