Just looking at the fancy stats, he looks pretty alright. The puck is leaving the defensive zone more often than it is entering it when he's on the ice.

I'd assume as a winger at his size he's strong on the boards too.

This is pretty much what I see too. I couldn't believe it when he was giving Gazdic shifts with RNH and Ebs/Hall last year in close games in the late second/early third period.

Dude can't turn on his skates, stickhandle, pass, shoot, stop or be in the right position ever. He's quite literally the definition of a useless hockey player.

so I cant help but feel this was a poor trade, am I missing something. I know gagner had to go and I know his trade value was low. and Purcell seems to have size and some dangle so I should like this trade.

I guess its seeing the mock line ups with arco in at 2nd or 3rd line center

Well Purcell had more points than gagner last season. So the whole 2C vs 3RW is irralavent in my opinion. Besides Purcell has great possession numbers and kills penalties. Nothing again gags but Purcell brings much more to the table at the end of the day

I can confidently say Gazdic is one of the 3, if not the worst, worst players in the league. All he can do is punch people in the face. Other team's useless people too. Highlight of his career will be taking Lucic off for 5 minutes this year

Purcell is a better fit for the Oilers than Gagner.

I hate Setito's guts, but the dude can make a play like 40% of the time and every now and then he pulls out a killer drive to the net. I'd still rather have a better player but if I have to have a guy playing 8 minutes you could do worse.

He's probably on par with Bissonnette for poop levels.

His S% his high point years was like 15%.

His last 2 years are 11% and 7% with a like 36 and 40 pt season. That seems more in line.

Regularly one of Tampa's best PP producers over the last few years. Thats... good? But it could also be pretty volatile and go on a guy with reduced PP role or formations.
