Let's just see how this plays out - I don't think Murray is getting anything close to what he is asking for - a top 6 player, a 1st and a top end prospect - I think it will be a middling pick, a 3rd line prospect who could fake it is a top 6 (noessen type) and a 40 point winger who has no special part to is game but is just solid

No, re-watch the interview. He says he will not be able to replace a player of Spezza's caliber. If Statsny lands with either Dallas of St. Louis, I expect the other to pony up on Spezza and also expect the Avs to move in the mix as well.

Oshie is a good player,but Stlouis is overating his value a bit here kid is 24 and has one 50 point season .He is a decent second line winger ,that can score 20 and add some speed.Not anything close to the gamebreaker Spezza is ,i dont see what the holdup is about really

Yes, Michalke in Ottawa was a total of -36 with 105 goals in 5 season of hockey - this is what I mean by lowering expectations on the return, we are not going to be getting a player that can be with us in a top 6 role for 7 years, we will get a solid 5-8 forward prospect (Richardinson, Samuelson) a a salary dump who gives us 82 games of disappointing hockey (Horcoff, Cheechoo) and a middling pick - just like in the Heatley trade,.
