Teddy will get qualified and so will Kinkaid. In Albany they have Burlon, Hoeffel, Wohlberg, Timmins, Boychuk, Clermont, Young, and Pesonen as RFAs.

O, that's the only two that the article mentioned, I didn't look up the RFAs. I think they should just let Teddy go, he had like 8 goals, I think not sure with the points, but I know it's not many. By now we should be seeing some growth. JJ at least plays center and is solid both ways even if he only ever becomes a fourth liner full time.

Most overrated goalie of all time. Very good...not the legend he's portrayed to be. I'd take Roy, Hasek, amongst others, over him in a heartbeat

Yeah I'm assuming he meant they wouldn't be qualifying everyone from that group, which isn't surprising. Teddy they should just let go but Lou said they'd do what they needed to keep his rights.

Obvious troll is obvious. That or you don't watch or know hockey. Debatably the best, definitely in the same class as Roy and Hasek. A case could be made for any of them. Personally I think Roy is the best, but that doesn't make it true.

I'm shocked you didn't put the "king" up there

Let me guess his wins record is all due to the team in front of him because well Roy's teams just sucked

But then again your opinion is better than pretty much everyone who has played and plays in the nhl

so after thinking about it, we did a decent job at the draft with who was available at the time

sure it could be debatable with lemieux rather than quenville but that isnt too much in it and depended on what they felt like doing

sure going D in the 2nd round was a little frustrating with system being bare up front, and we do have some nice young D pieces in Merrill, Larsson, Gelinas and possibly Severson and Santini after seeing how they progress, but lets first see what happens

for those who were saying the devils 1st round picks have sucked other than a couple hits, well you can say that for pretty much every team over the same period that has picked in the teens or 20's, and even some that have picked higher, take a look at the pens, you take away their top 5 picks and they haven't done so well

sure some years we and others will find steals, players drop for whatever reason and all but we are not the only team that has difficulty drafting especially when we are not picking top 10 all the time, but we have been lucky finding talent later on.......and hopefully that continues and we shall see if it happens again

chances are your not going to get a star player if your not drafting top 10 or so most years

I bet if we took Lemieux with our second and that dman with our third that other guy would have been there in the fourth

Awesome response, LOL. Yeah, the term 'overrated' does not apply to Brodeur.
I would take Hasek or Roy in their prime over him, but that's about it. He's an amazing goaltender and deserves the praise he gets. Sure, the 95' Devils wrote the book on defense and league had to eliminate the red line because of it. But after all that you had Brodeur in his prime!!! Just impossible to beat. Give credit where credit is due, he's one of the best of all time.

I like him ^.

With that said, since we won't be there anytime soon, good luck with what looks to be this generations dynasty in the making. Two straight cup final winning runs while overcoming a 0-3 series deficit is just incredible. Lombardi has built a beast out there.

after a mediocre draft, for a mediocre team.. Lou has 1 day before it's THE day, to either continue with mediocrity or take a step forward, I.E. Buying out Volchenkov. At least buying him out gives us some glimmer of hope for a future. At least we then know one of the kids (Larsson/Gelinas) will get more ice time. If Volchenkov isn't moved.. i mean it's the same team as last year, and adding a UFA forward won't make up for the lack of footspeed from the 2 pylons.. not 1, but TWO. TWO OF THEM. 2 out of 6 dmen are huge liabilities.

With whatever happens the next few days, we will feel the result for years to come. If we have the same D, Larsson/Gelinas will be hampered, maybe we even lose Larsson. If we move 1 or 2 pylons.. they have a chance to grow, and mature into who knows how good.. but at least they'll be given the chance.

Thanks, we're living a dream right now. We'll all see how long it lasts. Considering the team was bankrupt after the cup finals in 93', it was nice to finally win one. This year was insane, to many game 7's and overtime to boot!!! I might need a heart transplant after this year, LOL. I'm sure the Devils will be in the mix next year, good luck!

according to fairies, Caps, Flames, Devils in on Vanek.

Would you all agree he's the best LW available?

Is he the best forward on the market??

leaving price out of this, and if he's the only top 9 player we acquire, how would you guys feel about him on the Devils? Would you be disappointed??

how much would you feel comfortable giving him? what's your tipping point where it's just too much or too long?

just looking at Kovy's numbers when Lou traded for him. 38 goals, 41g, 52g, 42g, 52g, 43g, and 31 goals by in 49 games before we traded for him. Lou REALLY went balls to the walls for the UFA, and drafted Merrill with the pick we acquired from Atlanta. Pretty incredible.. literally a top 3-5 scorer in the league, up there with Crosby and OV for those several years.

The most skilled anyway... I'd like to see what kind of player he becomes if molded by the Devils' system.
