Again way to much credit given to Ehrhoff. Sedins were hitting their prime as was Kesler Edler Bieksa Burrows Raymond .
Were had guys like Torres that other teams were fearing . We battled in front of the net .We then got old and injured . Ehroff just happened to be in the mix and was part of a dynamic group.
2012 Canucks had a lot of injuries and lost Torres and Ehrhoff. Ehrhoff did little with Buffalo and they had players like Vanek and Pommerville .
Canucks also lost secondary scoring in Hodgson. Raymond was out and we lost other parts of offense, so to hand Ehrhoff all the accolades is way over the top.
I would rather try and trade with Boston for a young guy like Krug - VANTEL
When the Canucks PP was #1 in the league in 2011, most of those players you mention didn't even factor in to the 1st PP unit, which had by far more ice time and did by far more damage than the #2 unit. Hodgson and Torres didn't get PP time at all.
Our first PP unit was: Sedin-Sedin-Kesler-Samuelson-Ehrhoff
2nd PP was: Higgins-Malhotra-Burrows-Hamhuis-Raymond
I've alsways held that Samuelsson's creativity was an underated aspect to this team, but I can't say his absence would have created such a nose dive in performance. They got Edler on their after Ehrhoff left but it was never the same.
I'm not saying Ehrhoff is the king of shwing but he was a damn fine puck mover and I was really sad to see him go when he did. I wouldn't mind his return at all if the contract was reasonable (doubt it would be) and he's a UFA. Krug will cost you, and more than a 3rd liner like Higgins. |

Meh, there's always some negative nancy's.
Who do you think we go after in free agency? - nucks_94
I think they will go after Miller .
I'd like to see them go after Winnik and Biznasty also for 4 th and 5 th line depth . Biz @ 800k Winnik @ 1.4

I was actually thinking of swapping RFAs Kruger and Tanev package deal |

6.5x1 is 6.5 million. 5x4 is 20 million. You'd have to offer him a hell of a lot more than 6.5 on a 1 year deal to offset the risk of having a bad season under a bad team and lessening the amount he could command after. - eternalcashflow
If I were an NHL GM I would never risk that much money on a declining player. Your opinion is that someone will give him that but veteran goalies are less and less in demand. I guess we'll see in a couple days. |

The thing in our favour is there does not seem to be a lot of demand for Miller |

Interesting thought. Need for need. A true hockey trade within the same position. |

If we were cup contenders neither would I . This is a move I would do only ,if you intended to move Lack as part of a huge trade. Otherwise I would stay the course. |

I think that will continue to be the case. The temperature seems to be young, cheap goalies. Now I get that Quick is not cheap anymore, so these young cheap goalies eventually become young expensive goalies, but teams seem to be unwilling to give up much these days. |

Very well could be. The truth is we don't really need him . it gives us better security, but you never know what trader Jim's big plans are. I can see a guy like him wanting to compete for the cup in his first year as GM and stock the cupboards while doing it. |

How do the Sedins play in to this meat and potato style North to South? |

They don't. I say they don't play out this contract as Canucks. |

True I would have liked to see us move up in the draft but it was still a lot if great moves. I don't think they will be the last. Very exciting.
Lots of options but I don't think we will be overpaying. |

I disagree, the organization has too much respect for them. |

Anyone interested in Cammalleri? The guy can score... might work well with the Sedins |

Crossed my mind too. They didn't fit last years team and what Benning is trying to do is totally different than their style.
Add Detroit to that list too. #newstockholm |

Feel like Det would have an impossible time handling $14 mill in cap. NYR like big names, AV connection, they dont fit our new style & Nash/St.Louis do... Blockbuster vet swap. |

He's in the same category as Miller for me. Stay the f*ck away. |

They're more pickled herring and potatoes. |
