Why wouldn't you trade him?

His our best NHL caliber player. He's on a reasonable contract. He should have been flipped for a prospect/pick. Toronto or Philly would be all over him.

Ehrhoff seems like a great fit for Detroit too, who have lacked a quarterback on the blueliner sine Lidstrom retired.
