I was pretty certain he wouldn't be here, and I had a feeling there wasn't a team willing to part with a lot to get him.

You can thank Darcy for that. Plus IMO I think you are over valuing Ehrhoff. He is only an asset if you can trade him which thanks to Darcy he is not. Sure it feels like they are losing a player for nothing but IMO its the smart thing to do. Even if you trade for his rights again I still believe you get hit with the penalty.

Most of us liked the deal when it was signed, and nobody could have foreseen the league deciding to insert a convoluted recapture rule to make up for the fact that it lacked the foresight to see that a cap based on average could be easily manipulated, which anyone with kindergarten math capabilities could have seen coming.

Darcy gave him that insanely long contract no? You won't "thank" Darcy for that but yet you are giving Murray crap for making a decision but not calling him a decision maker. Gotcha

Just my thoughts. I don't post much.
Murray has been able to talk with UFA's for a bit now.
Ehrhoff is a shell of his former self not to mention the guy was half assing his play better than 50% of last season.
I would pretty much rest assured that Murray definitely has someone coming via free agency July 1st to fill the void left by the "Hoff".
Even on this team , the"Hoff" is not a big loss whatsoever but I do see your points about why we couldn't at least get a 2nd rounder or even a 3rd for him.
Murray's plan will soon come into focus.
And I would agree I think Myers needs to stay now.
