don't tell me you could get nothing for a 30- 40 pt D - GERBE!!!75PTS
Like everyone else has said "see: Recapture penalty" also, its not like he wasn't shopped since the trade deadline. Murray must have had a deadline to when he would give up trying to move him and that deadline was the end of the draft. |

Made him untradeable no other team wanted the risk of being on the hook for 10mil if he retired

We would still be stuck with paying for it and in 6 years I would rather spend that money on being competitive. |

The Sabres were on the hook for it not the team trading for him. Which is why Murray needed to get a huge return for him which he wasn't going to get |

Are you familiar with the recap penalty? Even if they traded him and he retired with one year left on his contract the Sabres would be penalized with a $10mil as a consequence of the front loaded contract. By that time the Sabres will be at the salary cap and wont be able to afford that penalty. Buying him out was really the only option he had other than keep him and buy him out down the road before he retires, but Ehrhoff made it clear he wanted out. |

Come free agency I expect the sabres to sign 3rd and 4th liners with the exception of a moulson. On the back end you will see 5th or 6th d men that are over the age of 30 i.e tallinder |

Unfortunately I dont see Murray adding anymore than that. Let ennis, Cody, Stafford, grigs, hold the fort on the front two lines until our farm develops |

We could be looking at the biggest tank job in the history of sports. I would love to see them change the lottery format this year and give you people what you deserve - SnowFrigginWay
I would give that award to the Astros.

It was dumb. Six years from now, that recapture penalty would be nothing under the higher salary cap. |

Gringo couldn't hold his own jock let alone of spot on the 1st or 2nd line, Darcy ruined him. |

Franzen is hurt to much, Weiss is a has been and we don't need anymore picks. Not a chance in hell I take that deal even with a 1st. |
