Technically, they don't have to do anything. They have 21 players under contract currently. No RFAs that need to be signed. They could stand pat this summer. I don't think they will, but I don't think Oduya is a guy they give up to make room either.

But, I wouldn't mind trying to weasel Hjalmarsson out of there. I really like him. Very underrated IMO

It seems that way. I saw his name mentioned a lot before the draft the other day.

The reality is that they just can't afford to keep all of these guys and fit them under the cap. And he'll be a lot easier to move than Hossa because the contract is much easier to move.

I like Gagne, I would have dealt for him.
