or a really bad one.
- RynoBull
Hence the "while training" part of my sentence. 19 lbs of fat gained while training would be pretty difficult. |

Nothing set in stone we get McDavid and they won't tank just to tank, you're not teaching young players that way and sets s bad example. - SABRES 89
No but the higher you pick, the better the player you draft.
I think the kids are fully aware, just as we are, that in the current NHL, you build from the draft. I'm sure Reinhart will be happier if we tank and he gets to play with Eichel than if we finish 10th place every year and he wastes his career here. |

Actually, I think it's down to 219. I'm pretty sure he hovered around 225 when we drafted him. Either way, he's getting into shape and that's a great thing. - LetsGoBuffalo75

Anyone outside the top 3-4 draft pick I would agree. SR is suppose to be a can't miss Center. if he needs to be coddled on the wing for a month then, i think, he won't be that Franchise type Center we desperately need. He may still be quite a good NHL'er, but my expectations for the best forward in the draft is very high. - RynoBull
As they should be. But playing wing for a while shouldn't reduce those expectations either.
Tyler Seguin played wing for a few years, and just became and 80 point center last year at 22 years old. He was a 2nd pick also. Mackinnon was drafted as a center and won ROTY playing wing. |

Gaining 20 lbs in the offseason did wonders for Myers......
19 lbs is A LOT of weight to gain in one offseason. Unless he was roiding up it going to change the way he plays/skates. |

Moulson, but I was told a few hours ago that if Murray is only going to give out 1-2 year deals, Moulson and Ott ( if they target Ott) won't take that. - SABRES 89
I think he may change a bit once he hears what they want. Another idea is 2x18 for Matty Mo. |

If he can't play Center at an NHL level, then be better be sent down to Crapchester to figure it out. - RynoBull
Well, he can't go back to..eh...Crapchester. |

He was listed as 209 last year.
10lbs since the start of last season is very plausible. |

You got me. Lets put Sammy boy on the wing with Luke Adam and see him blossom into that 80 point center.

Someone else said the Sabres website listed him at 209 during the year, so it's more likely he gained 10 lbs. Either way, weight gained effects D men and forwards differently. It's harder to be a heavy D man, because you rely on agility more. |

Jussi Jokinen - don't know maybe..?
Steve Ott - Yeah would be cool for right price. Have a feeling he gets big offers from playoff teams though.
Mike Cammalleri - Don't see this happening
Brian Boyle - Nor this
Erik Cole - Maybe?
Vincent Lecavalier - His contract is weird and long I think. Also pretty sure he's got a modified no-no list.
Andrej Meszaros - A possibility for sure
Milan Michalek - Probably has a lot of other offers
Daniel Winnik - Don't know much about him.
Benoit Pouliot - Probably has a lot of other offers
Mason Raymond - Probably has a lot of other offers but we could get him for overpay
Ryan O'Reilly - Clearly would love him here but its a fantasy.
Matt Moulson - Very likely we could get him but wouldn't be shocked if he goes to Montreal.
Lee Stempniak - A very real possibility I'd say
Radim Vrbata - Probably has lots of offers
Olli Jokinen -He's always rumored to come here never does... why start now?
Matt Niskanen - 0% chance
Oduya - Could be in a trade but I don't know now based on Murray's comments
some names that interest me for the Sabres, i'm sure most won't happen just my choices. - SABRES 89

It's not a matter of coddling him. It's a matter of bringing him along properly. Do you think that Backstrom was coddled because he wasn't thrown right into the fire? He was a 4th overall.

They also rely on agility, but IMO it's not as important as it is for D men. Gaining that weight will help Grigo hold on to the puck better, and I'm sure his skating won't be harmed if he's doing leg training. |

How do you/we know what his character and moral fiber is?!?!
From all accounts he seems to be a quiet guy in the locker room and not much of a mentor. As far as I can tell all he would do is score goals here which is exactly what we don't need. - sambarugh
A guy that leads by example and does not lead the young ones into bad situations . I take it you don't like Mr Molson . He likes it here . He likes the coach and he seems to not be an idiot . Unless you want to bring Derek Roy back who the polar opposite. |
