idk, 89...foligno is what he is, a fourth-liner, maybe bottom-six...as for mcbain, I love his shot...it's right on...like I said he's still young and offensive d-men need time...I don't think two years on both is asking too much - Michael Pachla
I'll agree with Foligno, something around 2-2.5. Murray wants him here, per his words.
McBain is 26 on the other hand and other than sitting on the point of a power play, is worthless. I wouldn't resign him if it wasn't totally necessary to get over the cap floor. Which I have faith that there will be players to Shut Up And Take My Money.
Yes to Foligno, I like his future and I know Murray does/will sign him anyway
No to McBain. He was a throw in for that 36th pick. That was us taking crap-salary from Carolina for a good pick, like we might do this summer from other teams. |

If they are smart they would overpay 3 vets 6 million each on a 1 year deal - Then at the deadline, flip those guys for 1st rounders or 2nds, or prospects
Thats how I'd stockpile during a rebuild when I have to hit the cap floor - RoloTahmasee
I agree. Let's hope |

Murray's moves have been pretty unconventional, RFA offer the Kreider (right age size, skill level) we've got St. Louis 1st& 2nd for the required compensation. |

It was mentioned on the last board that Murray has said not every RFA will get a qualifier from us. According to Capgeek, we have 5 that were on the roster at the end of the year. Ennis, Foligno, Conacher, McBain and Ruhwedel.
Looking at that list, I would guess that McBain and Conacher are in trouble. The other 3 will get offers. |

Big time... At least they can be 10% over in the offseason and then they have 4M for Savvy coming off gfor LTIR... but either way we are screwed.
Im actually warming on the fact of trading Lucic and his 6M salary at this point... it's getting that bad lol |

Is there a reason that Savard doesn't just retire? I have to say, I'm not a fan of these guys with concussion issues just staying on the books when they know they can't actually ever play again. Pronger is another one. |

Worst thing is the biggest need is Kelly as he makes 3M... but has a modified NMC, I think McQualid will be moved as I think he will garner interest |

That was my assumption. I'd be pretty disappointed if Ruhwedel wasn't qualified. Austin will be joining the AHL next year, so if a contract needs to be cut. Nick Crawford can be easily released. |

Actually, I worded that wrong in a way. But I'm sure you get the point. I just don't think that a team should be able to put a guy on LTIR year after year. I just feel like this is an area that needs to be addressed.
Savard could retire and it wouldn't hurt you because his contract wasn't 35+. Pronger on the other hand, would show on the cap for Philly because his was a 35+ contract. |
