I'm gonna be critical here and mention that 2 snipers on the same line won't help if they're next to each other.

Yes yes they'll score tonzo..but Stammer needs a playmaking winger I think more than another sniper.

Filppula and Vanek is not as good haha.

They dealt with it now . Why wait to see if it is manageable ? Do you want it hanging over the teams head if we are a contender ? We can't get that one extra piece to get us over the top in a cup run. I applaud Murray's vision and thinking that far out . Sure it stings right now . But at least Murray has a vision and is not willing to compromise it.

I'm sure Reinhart is sick of all the interviews.

So i'm sure all of you read that TM offered all 3 2nd round picks to move back into the 1st and was turned down...

but then I read that CHI got a better 1st for a 27th and 62nd..

and that NYI got 28th for 35 and 57th...


So either... Teams are realizing how stacked our prospect pool is and don't want to contribute to that and basically "c0ck-blocked" TM... or TM was trying to offer those 3 picks for a much higher than 20 something pick like in the mid-teens.

I think it was mentioned by multiple sources that the tiers of players was like 1-4, 5-8, 9-18 and then like 19-50

I love that he went back and spent day 2 at the draft. He's the only 1st rounder that did that apparently.

So I know the debates have been made on if Samson will stick on our roster for this season... I think that he will....


What is the feeling on any other guys?? Who else has a chance to stick around here? Grigo? Armia? Larsson? Lemiux? Risto? Zads? McCabe?


I'd guess that Risto and McCabe have the best chance of that group of staying up this season. Followed by Larsson.

Outside Reinhart, we're probably just looking 2-way grinders & depth...

But then again this was always projected to be somewhat of modest draft class.


Lemieux should get a look on the 4th line in 3 years or so, and he can be a valuable role player moving forward. I really like that Lemieux & Reinhart have really strong support systems around them from family & friends who know the drill. They won't bust.

My guess is we bring in some vetern Dmen and we don't see Risto or McCabe this year. Larsson may stick but i think for the most part everyone stays in the AHL for one more year.

That's my hope. I'm thinking we pick up 4 guys in FA. Orpik is no godsend but he's of great age/buffalo ties (per Murray)/leader and cheap. 4 years or less I'd hope for good money, no reason to say no. Maybe it will make Mike Weber expendable, and I'm pretty certain Orpik>Weber.

yea typo.... Girgensons could be wearing our C this year now.. Its him or Myers... there really is no OTHER choices...

I'll be watching Tampa with interest. I think Yzerman likes his top line and may go after Statsny cause really, Tyler Johnson as your 2C is not what you want.

Larsson is our 3C... I don't really see any other way around it...

Unless Reinhart sticks all year...

Ennis is 1C, Reinhart is 2C, and Girgensons is 3C with Larsson on his wing.
