idont think many contending teams can just offer erhoff what he would want without some sort of shifting around. this isnt the signing of some depth winger - stayinthefnnet
No, that's Steve Ott, |

Being the Flyers have no cap issues, they can just go out and sign Ehrhoff without doing any shifting around right? - PLindbergh31
Good reason to not always sign the 'best available' but to wait for the right player.
Do think Ehrhoff would be a nicer fit, and a player of a higher caliber than some of the more recent signings to that back end. So be it I guess.
We will see if a team is dumb enough to take LeCavalier without the Flyers having to take bad contract back themselves. |

With cap masta Holmgren at the helm the Flyers are all ready for the UFA period |

Can someone refresh my memory of Jaime McBain...name sounds familiar. - Deasr1
Fairly young offensive defenseman. Never developed really far. Think Gustafsson, basically. |

CLAIM HIM - 2Real
Is he put on waivers at this point? I thought he just becomes a FA tomorrow and we can sign him to what we want? I would be VERY interested in Jamie McBain, way more then I would be Del Zotto.
Trade Vinny for Upshall (-1m)
Trade Upshall for a 5th or 6th rounder to Buffalo (-3.5m)
Trade Grossman for Matt Irwin (-2.5m)
Sign McBain, Chad Johnson
Win the Jiri Sekac sweepstakes and/or sign a bottom 6 guy like Komarov/D. Moore
Read-Giroux-Simmonds
Raffl-Schenn-Voracek
Umberger-Couturier-Sekac
Bellemare-D.Moore-McGinn
Akeson, Rinaldo
Streit-Amac

Righty shooting offensive defenseman, has never improved in his own end or in terms of decision-making. |

Seems like a lot of reports of teams looking for 2nd line, centers with size. Teams like dallas, Toronto, Nashville. I know people say it can't be done but there has to be some sort of deal to be made with Vinny. |

If the Flyers want to add Ehrhoff and he'll agree to sign here. The Flyers can make that happen. Even if they can't move Lecavalier. |

Really good passer and can QB the PP, though.
Would have been worth a look pre-Streit, but that ship has sadly sailed. |

I'd say he's developed. He's almost at 300 NHL games. At this point, he can play in the top 4 of a playoff calibur team if he has a good partner. If not, he's an ok bottom pair guy who does a decent job defending and can move the puck.
I think he'd rebound big time in Philly. It would without question be one of the more talented if not the most talented roster he's ever played with. |

I do find it a little strange to have Holmgren up there at the draft, and being so vocal still. Clarke was (frank)ing at the draft being interviewed after the pick of Sanheim by TSN.
Kind of smells of an old boys club with the former members meddling in. Hope Hextall has all the power and say in the future direction of this club. Not so sure at times. |

The Flyers can't sign every free agent available, so that means they have cap problems, right? - MJL
CSNPhilly :
With free agency less than two weeks away, Hextall is severely impeded from doing anything without cap relief.
In fact, Hextall admitted it doesn’t make any sense for the Flyers to interview prospective free agents during the grace period the new CBA allows -- which began Wednesday -- because they don’t have enough money to sign anyone.
Hextall comes into this NHL draft with a pair of handcuffs on his wrists.
------------------------------------
Not every free agent. Any free agent. I'm gonna go with cap problems for $100 Alex. |

Depends on the price, but I'd have to say I'm definitely interested. Save Ehrhoff, he's probably the best puck moving righty available |

I agree that he would do better with a non-poopty team, but Streit + him + Schenn + Amac on the same blueline scares the poop out of me defensively. |

But.... But.... But.... It was imperative to lock up MacDonald immediately. Can't let the big fish get away. |

I don't have an issue taking a shot with him, but if you think people are upset, writing pissy articles about MacDonald, wait til they get a look at McBain. |
