Supply and demand of the NHL salary market. If MacDonald was going into free agency tomorrow, he's be in high demand. And teams bidding against one another would drive up the price. As MacDonald's agent stated, he took a little less then he could've gotten on the open market to sign with the Flyers.

He is a guy I really want to watch lift that cup. From having no shot at a career to All-star to Playoff stud. Also helping younger players learn to live outside hockey the right way. Great guy.

I would put Boyle and Erhoff ahead of MacDonald. The playoffs did nothing to help him. I still like MacDonald as a player, but he is overpaid.

Only reason I was pulling for Montreal in the Final 4. Well, that, and I'd never pull for the Rangers, so they were out from the get go.

You can say that now. But going into FA there was no indication of Erhoff being a FA. We killed them for waiting on Suter and Weber and missing out on carle. Also Macdonld is 27 compared to Dan Boyle who is 35 and Erhoff is 32.
