I must say, capgeek is on top of things. Less than five minutes after Bob McKenzie said Briere was traded for Parenteau, they had already swapped them.

Duchene, ROR and Mac at center. I feel like they could have done better. Only a 1 year deal though, so it's not a big deal.

Do you think that the period of talking to players before free agency happened so that more players would sign on July 1st during the all day coverage? The last thing I want is for the big free agents to wait a week, so that few teams offer contracts or trades to get their backup plans.

Yep, unless he plays amazing I see him as bait at the trade deadline for picks.
