Let's just say I hope that.particular player finds employment elsewhere - AllInForFlyers
I think Dominic Moore is a better player and would likely sign for less. |

Deterioration is inevitable. Goodbye Wayne, we only pretended to like you. It was the laundry all along. - mayorofangrytown
I was kidding!!!
Although teams seem to really want him - so he might be a key piece to push someone into taking Vinny. |

He was always just one of those elevated role players. |

If we waive Rosehill, and Ott plays on the 4th line with Laughton that might not be a bad thing. He'd ground the kid and protect him.
I agree it's all about the price though.
EDIT: I'd probably rather see Ott than Rinaldo/Rosehill. - FlyersGrace
i wish we could find a way to dump rinaldo and rosemont. if we could do that and land ott, great. |

Col Plays ROR and Mac on the wing though. Last season Duch and Stastny where top 2 Cs - xShoot4WarAmpsx
ROR and Mac can both still play center though. With Statsny gone, Mackinnon and Briere are likely in top 9 with Duchene. ROR will probably stay on the wing and play C on the PK. |

I'd be suprised if Ott would sign somewhere for a 4th line role. - MJL
And that's the issue. |

Luckily, we still don't have Buff, a deal wasn't in place at the draft, and we still don't have Phaneuf. So, I am feeling at least decently good about us not signing Ott. |

Are you suggesting using Simmonds as a throw-in? If so, I'd rather not ever move Vinny. |

Yeah. I loved him a few years ago. He just hasn't been very good since his Stars days. I feel like his poor play is the result of aging more than being on a bad team (Sabres) |

I'm suggesting it the other way. The only way you get Simmonds is if you take Vinny too. |

Step 1: Trade Vinny and valuable asset for less valuable asset
Step 2: Sign over-hyped grinder
Step 3: Trade promising young player(s) for overvalued "premier" defenseman
Step 4: Lament |

Can just waive them. They can go to minors and they won't count against the cap |

Oh. I see.
Still, if that's the case, I don't want Vinny going anywhere because I don't see a realistic deal where I'd trade Simmonds, especially after we just threw Hartnell away. |

I know. Ott will sign with somewhere else and Ek will be like "Flyers were definitely ALL OVER Ott, but were outbid" |
