If Vinny is moved i think he played wing in Col. Can put him on 1st or 2nd line. Guys has size and skill. Also I am still hyping the Leo Komarov train. Think he would be hell on skates and still has skill.

We can acquire either, right now (trade for Del zotto or get him as a ufa July 1st) or Ehroff July 1st ufa.

We can spend up to 6.9M over the cap as of now (10%) prior to the NHL season. Moving Vinny (4.5M), Grossman (3.5M) and Pronger LTIR (4.9M) would free up 12.9M.

Yep. Coach should have some input as to player acquisitions to the extent of players who fit his system, but it's the GM's job to acquire them in a productive manner. The coach just plays them.

I actually think both Vanek and Eheroff would be good fits in Detroit right now. That's my guess.

TJ Galiardi if not getting an QO. Maybe 3rd line winger?

Me too. I think Boyle is going to be very expensive though. Moore is reportedly asking for under $2M. He's a good 4th liner who can play all over the bottom 6. He provides much needed speed to our lineup too. Boyle is a good player, but a slower moving guy.

It's not a matter of where he grips it. It's a simple matter of weight ratrios. A 5 pound Briere could not carry a 180-pound Simmonds.

They just need to be smart about payment. They can't fall in love with a bottom 6 guy. There are many available. If that means waiting a little longer in FA, then so be it.
