I still can't believe they gave up the 2015 1st rounder. Now you have to make the playoffs because if end up in the lottery and somehow get number 1 or 2 for Eichel or McDavid. What if Buffalo gets number one and then 2 because of the Islanders. - J35Bacher
If Snow gave up the 2015 first rounder it would have been equivalent to him saying. "I think my team is a bunch of losers and I have completely given up on them." You can't give up a top 5 pick expecting to lose horribly next year too. |

We paid Mez 4+ to sit in the pressbox, and Vinny 4+ to be on the 4th line. So yeah I doubt Berube cares. Hextall will. Berube not so much. Which is good! I want my coach to field the best team possible. Salaries be damned. - FlyersGrace
Not True we paid Vinny 4 mill to be G's winger and it failed. Then we tried to find room for him and failed. Now we are trying to move him for the purpose of not paying him 4 mill to center the 4th line |

Seriously, one of the best phone calls I've ever gotten. As I'm walking out of the Flyers game with my (now) wife:
"Dude....um, I have a problem."
"What's wrong? Did you get laid?"
"Well yeah...but, um...the condom broke."
"YOU (frank)ING IDIOT! You didn't pinch the top did you?"
"Pinch the what?" - jmatchett383

As someone corrected me earlier, he came in to be the 2C. It worked fairly well until he got hurt and then they started the shifting. And it's $4.5M. |

Pfft approx. 4 mill and if that is true Homer was dumb to sign him then. I would have never signed him as a 2nd line center with Schenn and Coots on the team. |

Flyers should just stand pat - Winning
As crazy as it sounds, I would have been fine with heading into the season with what we had prior to the Hartnell trade. I thought our team was at least a playoff team and possibly a contender if we avoided a bad match up like the Rangers or Bruins. The only hole to me that needed to be filled was Downie's spot. The question for me now is, will be better or worse in October? We'll see tomorrow. |

If there is one thing that made me hate Mike York even more it was the fact that he was decent when he played for the Rangers and sucked when we had him. He sucked out loud.
The only Flyer I can think with immunity from the Ranger uniform curse is Kim Johnsson, who played like a boss in '04. |

I think he was brought in at least partially as an insurance policy in case B Schenn couldn't hack it, or to transition him. Didn't exactly work out. |

Did you find it funny that the player comparisons for our last two first round picks were Marc Staal and Ryan McDonagh? |

Ehrhoff would really help out our D I think. Moving Streit or Grossman would become a possibility if Philly would acquire him. Also, he is less a gamble than Del Zotto but he would obviously be more expensive.
With both being available, Del Zotto now as a rfa and tomorrow as a ufa if NSH do not qualify an offer and with Ehrhoff hitting the UFA market tomorrow, we have a real chance at upgrading our defence. |

Yep, a big reason for signing Vinny was that B. Schenn had a hard time getting the second line to bring consistent offense when Briere went down the year before. |

Sadly, if we sign either with roster as is, we go from a position of little leverage to negative leverage in making a deal to have a cap-compliant roster. |

I agree, but as of now moving Lecavalier for a 3rd rounder and Grossman for a 3rd rounder, I would think our GM would sign the trade contract. Especially if we get cap space an acquire either Ehrhoff or Del Zotto. |

yeah, he's probably the only one, but there haven't been many in general that have worn both. or at least not separated by several teams in between. i think the trade of froese to ny was the last one until the lindros deal. almost 15 years.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Correction: deadline for QO's is 5 pm ET. In NSH's case, Del Zotto decision is 4 pm CT. So an hour to try to trade him.
Now 13 minutes. |
