@TSNBobMcKenzie: Correction: deadline for QO's is 5 pm ET. In NSH's case, Del Zotto decision is 4 pm CT. So an hour to try to trade him.
Now 13 minutes. - aflyerpower8
it's like an outdoor soccer game. playing all that stoppage time for the inevitable shoot out. the goal's not gonna' happen. it's just a waste of time watching everybody run around and fall down like they got shot when someone breathes near them, waiting for the final whistle. |

I agree, but as of now moving Lecavalier for a 3rd rounder and Grossman for a 3rd rounder, I would think our GM would sign the trade contract. Especially if we get cap space an acquire either Ehrhoff or Del Zotto. - Chris48
You're assuming we are trading both of them with relative ease without taking any salary back or absorbing a percentage of either cap, which is not realistic. |

Am I the only one who finds it ironic we traded for Umburger, which to me is a more expensive version of what we could have signed in Simon Gagne last summer but went after Lecavalier's instead? Umburger isn't better then Gagne. I'd say right now they'd be at par but Umburger is more healthy and Gagne would have signed s cheaper deal with less years as reported. |

The fact that Gagne did not get a sniff of the NHL last year....at all.....is telling. |

They'll be a lot of interest in him. I think he'll want a top 6 spot guaranteed. |

Who knows what's realistic? I'm saying a team in need of a ''free'' 20 goal center like Lecavalier or in need of a ''free'' stay at home Dman like Grossman would probably throw a 3rd or 4th or 5th to fill that need. Maybe some salary would be retained, maybe not.
When Sam Gagner is traded for a 6th round pick, who can really know what the hell is going on these days. |

Zotto is not a good replacement for Grossman. Need a guy with Decent size and mobility. The D is already too undersized with Timonen, Streit, and to some extent AMac |

He seemed fine with us two years ago. With our limited cap and need for left wingers, I would look into signing him. |

If that were the case, why not trade and qualify him. I'm sure Nashville would have taken anything. |

either Ehrhoff or Del Zotto.
Moving Streit instead of Grossman if possible would also be an option if we acquire another offensive Dman.
That being said, I don't question Grossman's heart, but his knees and body are an issue. |
