Am I the only one who finds it ironic we traded for Umburger, which to me is a more expensive version of what we could have signed in Simon Gagne last summer but went after Lecavalier's instead? Umburger isn't better then Gagne. I'd say right now they'd be at par but Umburger is more healthy and Gagne would have signed s cheaper deal with less years as reported.

Exactly. They need to sign a backup and 1-2 more bottom-6 players if they plan on waiving Rinaldo and Rosehill, which puts them at the limit. Which I'd prefer they not do for opening night.

Holly molly, changing the D corp and replacing a ''type'' of dman for the same type player is completely separate things.

Speed and quick puck movement is Berube's system. You don't need to replace player X with player X. Upgrade and get the most effective player for the system as a whole.

Ehrhoff would really help out our D I think. Moving Streit or Grossman would become a possibility if Philly would acquire him. Also, he is less a gamble than Del Zotto but he would obviously be more expensive.

With both being available, Del Zotto now as a rfa and tomorrow as a ufa if NSH do not qualify an offer and with Ehrhoff hitting the UFA market tomorrow, we have a real chance at upgrading our defence.
