Ehrhoff is a huge difference maker. He might be the best unrestricted free agent available.

I actually agree with sentiment completely

I feel like tomorrow will be frustrating to watch players that could really help this team go elsewhere cause of bad signings and salary cap management....I have been so frustrated by the lack of urgency by this organization to get Giroux another winger of similar talent and a nose for goals...I equate it to having Mcnabb and that defense for all those years and refusing to get a star receiver here and when we did we went to the super bowl....Even if TO and Mcnabb are both a couple of poop heads....

And whom exactly do you feel can fill that need at forward that is currently a UFA?

After tomorrow... $8 million of VL's contract will be paid out.... Leaving $14.5 for the final 4 seasons. That's $4 million, $4.5 million, $3 million, and $3 million respectively for an average of $3.625 million. I honestly don't think the flyers will have to bite the bullet on this one to find a taker and that teams are just posturing to see what Hexy will do. If they have the cap space he is very affordable in real $$$.

We shall see.... Maybe I'm wrong.

I hope you are right. Just feels.like he's gonna be on the roster next season -- people might be kicking tires, but they might just decide not to buy

The young core is very good. Yes G needs a winger but better mix of Dmen will help G out as much. He only needs the puck on his stick to make that happen. He really should shoot more. Jake too.

Hey, that's good to know that Poile is eating solid food again after his unfortunate accident being hit in the face right before the Olympics.

I agree there isnt the fit, but I am still on the get Evander Kane outta Winnipeg train...but it is a viable point cause I want no parts of Vanek or Moulson

Poile better not be too smug; they miss the playoffs again and he'll be the one making calls to prospective employers

And fine...then Berube will have to make it work. The dude wasn't healthy last year and he still scored 20. There is no reason to think that he can't give us 25 when healthy. He helped the PP immensely with that cannon. Takes a little pressure off G. I would rather move him, but I won't be crying the blues if we don't. We can always use scoring from I understand.

I can't disagree with your favoritism of Kane over Moulson and Vanek. Signing the latter two, would create salary cap problems down the road that they are experiencing right now.

The team is going to have to get more scoring out of Coots and B. Schenn this year. Since both are still very young, the hope there is still another level of development to ascend this season scoring wise.

I agree, he really hasn't done very much in his tenure with the Preds. They've been past the first round once in his tenure. Small market shouldn't be an excuse. His building of his forwards has been atrocious.

That is the key for this team to be successful for now and 5 to 6 years down the line. But they need to be put in more favorable positions. Schenn stay at one position and Coots more offensive time.

And a potential scenario is VL has a good season so that 1 yr from now he will have 3 years, $8.5 million remaining on his contract.... We could actually get a decent return, nothing crazy, but decent. I'm OK either way.... Would prefer they trade him though.

Hextall wants to add a veteran as his 7th Dman; he doesn't want a young D man from the Phantoms getting rusty being a healthy NHL scratch.

can't wait to see who the 7th D man is going to be

somewhere along the lines of Gervais to Hall Gill

Tomorrow is going to be a backup G, 7th dman, and bottom 6 forward.

We aren't winning it this year or next anyways. Not saying we aren't good, but we are nowhere near as good as LA and a few of those other teams. I think Hexy will surprise us with a couple moves to get space and some help. Just not what everyone thinks will put us over the top. Hell, the hole this team is in, anything will get us over some form of proverbial top.
