The problem with the Rangers is that you have to beat them 2-1 every game. The Flyers and Penguins just don't have the two-way ability and depth to keep the game low scoring. Both teams want to trade chances. - PhillySportsGuy
oh i can tell you the problem with that (frank)ing joke of a team/style when the weather gets warm, but i feel as though ive subjected you to enough whining about them, however justifiable.
regardless, you have a team down 3 1 and you should finish. no excuses. they (frank)ed up, and it cost them. i really dont know if they would have beaten the kings. but i definitely would have taken them over MTL. |

Josh Gorges ?
Another 4 year long contract at about 4 mill per year ?
WHY ?
Or is it just Ek E2 dribble - Steelmanpa
I hope its the second. I suppose he would be an upgrade on Grossmann if we wanted to trade him, but at what cost? |

true. but his deal is realistically going to be about a mil or so less than letangs. i like him, just as you do. i think we see a lot of similar things to value in his game. but for that price, i dont know.
maybe a team like COL. in which it would pay a bit to overpay in order to fill an area that they REALLY need to take that next step.
come to think of it, the flyers as well - stayinthefnnet
Honestly, I can see the Flyers doing nothing but getting a 7th dman and 4th line player. They have been spending like crazy every year, so now they will over correct and not pursue ANY free agents! |

One can only hope based on the contracts given so far. |

Hey, I like Dominic Moore to replace Vinny. I think that would be a very good signing to help the transition of Laughton.

I don't think they're going to be after any high priced top free agents. But I think some moves will be made.

still, something sound about the mindset of not spending just to spend.
i weigh the player, his expected role on the team/his ability to fill that role, and the contract all together. seldom do i find free agent signings anymore coming out to "yes, this is good for the team" when evaluated via such a totality of circumstances. |

If the deal was short (i.e. 1 year), then I would like it. |

let em have price. i still take the pens in that series. makes the (frank) up job all the more frustrating.
id like Megna to get a look for the fourth line next year, regardless of jokes |

I'd rather them underspend than overspend. I still think they have some glaring holes though. They created another by dealing Hartnell. |

Not the ones signed early, but guys who have not signed late in free agency can be had for bargains. An example would be Mason Raymond. |

I'm even ok with moves that may not help in the short term, but will help in the long term. A deal like VL for Upshall would be fine by me. |

I don't think it's worth going after the big names on the market unless they are absolute top tier. A guy like Suter is invaluable. He could make $10M per year and still be worth it.
I don't mind "overpaying" if the guy is a huge difference maker. |

All stuff you don't need to rush and sign on day 1 of free agency. - ob18
This.
My idea of a fun July 1 is watching every other team over-spend on this mediocre UFA class... and the Flyers kicking back and waiting for the value buys to surface late-July/August. |

that is true. the trick is to find this years raymond. as the actual mason raymond will surely be looking to parlay last years production into a nice raise |
