No kidding... seems like forever ago, but they already made their splash w/ the AMac signing. |

This.
My idea of a fun July 1 is watching every other team over-spend on this mediocre UFA class... and the Flyers kicking back and waiting for the value buys to surface late-July/August. - Tomahawk
You guys have identified it already today: backup goalie, depth forward, and a 7th defenseman, since Hextall prefers a veteran.
No need to rush out there for that, even if they did have a lot of cap space. |

I really hope the Pens make some awful signing like Vanek for 7 years - PhillySportsGuy
Vanek would score about 43 goals with Pensburgh.
Might get 0 in the post season though. |

Homer was an above average GM, not great. I'm not going to discount two Conference Finals and a Stanley Cup Final. If he was in Nashville, he would probably be a minority owner of the team at this point. He liked to swing for the fences on pretty much every occasion when maybe going for the safer play was the better option.
I enjoyed his tenure because he certainly kept things interesting. Hexy has the opportunity to build this team into a lasting power if he can solve the cultivation of homegrown blueline talent and shy away from long multi-year extensions to players in their 30's in most situations, IMO.

i dont know, that just doesnt inspire hate in me. im fairly apathetic about the eagles, so i guess that has something to do with it. but still. i follow the nfl pretty closely, and hate A LOT of guys in the league. he just makes me chuckle. |

I think he was a good GM, but was too liberal with money. He had his ups and downs. He wasn't the best, but we certainly could have had worse |

I hate that he just got hot at the right time and won two Super Bowls. He's not even that good of a QB. He's just some dumb (frank)ing guy who got hot at the right time. Thats it |

4th line energy guy, no biggie either way
pens needed a bit more depth on their bottom 6, he's a solid pick up |

nah. if his last name wasnt manning, he isnt even the first overall in his draft year.
he CAN be a damn solid qb though. but he needs ideal situations set up around him.
if the boat is sinking, hes going down with it. |
