I'd like to see the Canucks pick up a guy like Thomas Greiss. He put up some very respectable numbers but hasn't really been given a chance to fully showcase himself (and he's still fairly young at 28 but does have a decent amount of experience) His cap-hit the last few years has been minimal and I'm sure he could be signed for a nominal contract as well this year (since he'd like to prove himself and hopefully get the big coin to go along with that, next year)

He's quite an under-rated goalie but has been praised by quite a few of the hockey pundits. From what I've seen of him, he seems quite solid. It could also be a very positive aspect to seeing both Lack and Greiss push each other.

Is his nickname greasy?

I believe greasy is the biggest factor when selecting players according to DCT

Yes? So what happens to our 2nd line? Let's assume the Canucks sign Hiller or Miller because it sounds like they really want a veteran goalie and will pay for one. How would the top 6 look? Would it fit WIllie's system?

Isn't it about the name on the front of the sweater ? if Iggy and Hank are your two best forwards ,is that not who should be there , or for the next four years do we have to coddle the Sedins?

Do you really see Danny and Hank playing North /South? I don't see Danny transition speed and crash the net. I may be wrong but I have never seen it yet.I for one thanked God the WD didn't like the cycle.

I am sure Trevor and Trader Jim knew that upon hiring WD.

Let's keep with the theme Change is Coming. Danny can play second line

It is not Miller koolade . I think we made a lot of good moves this week to stock cupboards. Now the idea is to put the best roster forwards.

If there were Johansens and Etems on the UFA list I wouldn't even think of such athing but BPA are Moulsen Vanek Stasny . I am impressed with none of them.Iggy still has game and is a two year deal , I say sure.

I look at the Miller situation the same as Luongo except Miller wants to be here .It gives you stable goaltending and we are not up against the cap.If we were I would want no part of it.

This Miller for say 4 yearsish is great
Iggy as well for 2 the guy is a stud.

This gives stability to the team and a decent mix of vets and young bloods all through the team. I hope these are our two moves and that's it other than a Higgins or Hansen trade for a pick

Off of the cycle..

Do you want 2 lines that prefer to cycle in Desjardins system or do you trust our current wingers enough to roll with Iggy and the Twins and then Bonino with 2 of Higgins/Hansen/Shinkaruk/Burrows/Kassian?

- Nucker101

Sedin Sedin Shink
Iginla Boninio Burrows/Kassian

The 1st line needs way more speed that is why Shink is there. As far as endurance I don't question the Sedins.

I would prefer that if a player can't keep up and play to the coaches style ,then move him

So 2 lines with questionable speed in Willie's system then?

The point I'm making is that with the Sedins we already have 2 slower players in the top 6, we need to make up for it with the other roster spots to play this style. I'm fine with signing Iggy for the Sedins, but you're other 3 lines better all have some nice speed to play the way Willie D really wants to.

Problem is that the Sedins need someone who is strong along the boards and good at puck retrieval...that's not Shinkaruk's game at all, he fits way better with Bonino has his center.

Edit: just think how much the Canucks would save instead of going with Miller, allowing them to make even more moves and address our other needs

Benning has seen Miller play more than anyone of us over the last couple of years, he must like something in what he has seen.

I totally get it. But you cant go all youth or they don't know how to be pros. They need vets to teach them how to work day in and day out. The vets need the energy and excitement of the youth to keep it fun for them. They need each other

Hank Danny last year 27 goals Hank and Iggy 41 goals . What is the reason you want Daniel on the first line again ? Sorry I am having problems seeing the reasoning

The NHL should have its very own soap opera - "As the Puck Turns" or "The Young and the Toothless"

So much behind the scenes drama

I don't want 2 lines with questionable speed in this system. Plus we all know that the Sedins getting split up is highly unlikely, no point in denying it.

I already have issues with this move. If they sign Miller long-term my faith in this organization - after generating a lot of positivity and excitement this past week - will once again go out the window
