Alex Chiasson's 900K cap hit a little less than Spezza's 7 million...also don't forget the 2015 2nd rounder the Sens get.

That's a great trade for the Sens for a guy who was wallowing on their 3rd line for a good chunk of last season and with only 1 year remaining.

I know but I honestly don't believe he's worth much more than that for what we are intending him to do.

That said, if you flip the script and intend for Miller to be a 50 game starter, then yes 5m makes sense.

My point is you just can't have a backup get paid more than triple your #1.

Seguin-Eakins-Spezza down the middle with Spezza manning the #2 PP.

I would prefer to try and run with Lack but Miller isn't the worst idea. Having 2 starting goalies is never a bad idea unless its for Vancouver... Oh wait

Not IMO, they're insulating Lack to bring him along a bit slower, he's not ready to be thrust into a starters role. In a couple years yes.
