Ehrhoff to the Pens for 1 year/4 mil. Wow great deal for Pit! - Nucker101
Wow! Nice! |

Not surprising. It's the only organization he's ever played for, harder for those guys to waive than it was for Garrison(despite being a hometown guy). - Nucker101
Did he fit here really? I didn't have any dislike of his work ethic but I expected a lot more. He didn't impress at all. |

James Mirtle @mirtle
Interesting players who didn't receive qualifying offers and are UFAs: Perreault, Conacher, McBain, Loktionov, Del Zotto, Aulie, Lindback - AlexF
I liked Perrault but too small |

? He was arguably our best defenceman in the shortened season. Last year he wasn't great but who was? |

It pays to have Crosby and Malkin, so much easier to sell UFA's on your team. |

This. When you have big pieces like that its easier to lure big names at the right price. |

Personally, I am ok with Miller. If Lindenning aren't sold on Eddie Lack, then we need a new #1. It's going to be several years before we can contend again and provided it's not a 7-year deal, by the time we're ready to make a real run, we'll have someone in the system ready to replace Miller and Miller will be at the point in his career where he's mentoring his replacement and being a solid backup.
The point to this by Benning is to get a capable starter for 4-5 years while we develop someone in the AHL ala Cory Schneider and not have to trade for a goalie in the next few years. |

Cam Barker had a better percentage of hitting the net than Garrison. |

This past year was very underwhelming, he was fine the year before. Overall just too streaky of a player for someone at that price tag. Didn't have great speed or puck moving ability, and not a physical presence. Don't think Benning or Willie were too high on him either to move him that fast. |

Yeah me too. If we didn't qualify Webber I'd have been into giving McBain a look. |

Martin is decent defensively, but they're looking to deal him now. Guess it's up to the kid in Maatta and the overpaid Scuderi. |

He'll cave in after they keep asking him throughout the season. Gone by TDL. |
