Speaking of understanding hockey, a team generally needs to score goals in order to win games. Speanding 6m per season upgrading an area that wasn't close to our most needed area for upgrading is a poor decision. Unless Miller scores goals as well that is.

Not to mention we now have 9.2m tied up in goalies and Lack will be 30 yrs old after Miller's 3 year term. I sense a trade coming...

I think Markstrom goes, we need a top 6 guy and a gritty defenseman that can battle in front of the net.

Focus elsewhere with 6 million less. Good luck scoring goals.
- Nucker101

Sure, we could get goal scorers... but then we'd be getting scored 3 to 4 to every 1 we score. And worse yet, you destroy Lack and Markstrom's confidence and have to start over with another tandem. Pick your poison.

Miller is like Kesler, had one bright moment that created an unsustainable expectation.

Well, Lack and somebody wasn't a strong goaltending situation. Miller and Lack is pretty solid. Lack only makes $1.15m, so this is a pretty affordable tandem. Hopefully Miller can bring back some 2010 styles and doesn't get all Roman Turek up in here. He should still have plenty of hockey in him.

Who knows. Perhaps Miller signing hear will make this market more desirable to other FA's

Demko was a good pick. Lots of you are questioning that one but IMO that was a good pick.
- thundachunk

Yeah. In 8 years we'll question whether or not he's ready to carry the load & overpay some other wet-rodent looking vet to take his spot.

Professional sports is a very fluid business, A LOT can happen in three years!!!

I don't think Miller & Lack/Markstom is an upgrade on Lack & Markstrom. The cap space would have been better spent on goal scoring IMO

I'll take Lack with the slightly lower save percentage and adding a 20+ goal scorer. Sign me up for that poison.

The season doesn't start tomorrow, relax. They've got 7.15 million spent on goalttenders, if you honestly believe they'll carry Markstrom too you haven't got a clue!!

I just think we could have used that money much more effectively upgrading our top 6.

Lack will take his job by Xmas, then we're stuck with another whiney douche bag with a NMC.
