Early leaders for worst deals: Orpik, Bolland, Pouliot, Cammalleri. Miss any?

I just think we could have used that money much more effectively upgrading our top 6.

We've had too many D and goalies for too long and we need top 6 players. screw it more D and goalies!

I'll take Lack with the slightly lower save percentage and adding a 20+ goal scorer. Sign me up for that poison.
- Nucker101

Who? Moulson? Vanek? Both of whom will want minimum 7-8 mil for twice the amount of years Miller got? Would that make us better? Who's going to give them the puck? Unless you want to go 4 forwards with the Sedins in a soccer style formation.

I don't think Miller & Lack/Markstom is an upgrade on Lack & Markstrom. The cap space would have been better spent on goal scoring IMO

Lack will take his job by Xmas, then were stuck with another whiney douche bag with a NMC.

Moulson and Iggy will demand more than Cammy and Stastny? Must have some great agents.

Gentleman's bet, Lack will have a better S% and GAA than Miller this year?

I don't love the deal but it's not the end of the world like some of you Nancy's are pretending it is.

The fact that this is even a conversation says a lot about this signing. (frank).

I thought the Stastny signing was a tad high but seeing what we gave Miller I would have taking that deal all day long and signed Greiss as our #2.

I think he had his mind set on STL, hometown team and a contender. Likely left years on the table that another team would have gave him.

I think they Nancys are saying, above all, that the money would have been better spent upgrading our forward core. Would you not agree?

Again, who gives them the puck? Henrik might be a twin, but we don't have cloning technology yet. Whatever, it's only the first day of FA and I can see what the braintrust of the Canucks are thinking. This next year is going to be a throwaway, no matter WHAT Linden and Benning say, we still have cap space and once teams figure out that they're in cap hell, we can take advantage.

I would have liked to have had Cammalleri ($5m is fine; 5 years is a little scary) and Ehrhoff ($4m for 1 year! Damn). NYR signed Dan Boyle to a good contract, too. Other than that, not much out there I care about. Let's see if we can get Iggy.

Honestly, who know what would have become of Lack as a starter for a whole season? He started strong and was looking very beatable towards the end of the season. Miller is a very capable goalie. He's not the icon he once was but he should win us more games than Lack would have, at least for the next 2 years. And Lack can shine as a back up, getting 20-30 starts. Seems like a good situation.
