I guess I was just thinking about how, at one time, Boston, Chicago and Vancouver were pretty even. But those two teams were able to make tough choices and stay at the top or at least stay very competitive until a return to the top. - Beatle_john
I agree with you there. The Gillis years were horrible for drafting and developing. Look at Schroeder as the perfect example. I think Benning is the guy to draft and develop. However, the Miller signing for $6 million does scare me. |

Miller is 33 and considered past his prime. Becoming a starter at 30 is not ideal - bezz44
I got to go but I really think a Star Goalie.... not a starting goalie will not develop until age 30. I mean top 5 in the league.
He didn't look past his prime in St. Louis!

I still think Benning has a deal on the Table for Lack but couldn't be done until Canucks had a number one |

This is a big reason why I am not pissed at the Miller deal. We have an attractive trade chip. - VANTEL
What do you think the Canucks could get for Lack alone? I would guess a second round pick, a mid level prospect, or a 4th line roster player. |

Fair enough. I'm fine with that, the last thing this team needs is more goaltending controversy. That being said the return on Lack probably won't be super exciting |

Yea, same as I was thinking. Similar to Dubnyk for Hendricks |

I think that is a bit ambitious. Don't know how much value he holds outside of this forum

That's right - and at least this time around, it's clear who's the starter.
I wouldn't expect that much in a trade, but more than Dubnyk. He was terrible. |

Based on the return for Schneids, I'm thinking a 3rd rounder. Maybe a second if he's traded to NYI. |

From the stories that Maclean, Lawton and Keenan have shared on Sportsnet I'd disagree. |

I checked a HF thread and the highest offer was a 2nd. Consensus was 3rdish |
