Homer mentioned yesterday or the day before that the belief in the organization was that they would be bad again next year, Murray said it in his press conference as well, doesn't expect to compete for a playoff spot next year. And he was pretty open about the sabres role in the 2015 draft when the lottery changes were announced. Not saying they're outright tanking but it still sounds like they hope to build through the draft at least for one more year.

I agree with you both. I still think this team is a long way from really being competitve night in and night out. But, I do think the games will be more entertaining this year.

They brought in vets that will help the kids that are here and will be out of here in time for the kids to take over.

The goaltending is still a big question mark and I think the defense still leaves a bit to be desired, especially when you take into account that Risto, McCabe, Zads, and Ruhwedel could all be sent down instead of being with the big club.

TFP also mentioned us and 89 did as well but maybe talks fell through? Or Murray may be waiting on something else.

I like Ott, but with Gionta an Moulson as good leaders I just don't think he's necessary now.

THe kids need guidance or they will be like Grigs . Cant just ice a bunch of scrubs or over pay for ME ME players . Glad Murray went the route he did.

They are not a playoff team but they will not tank, you need to realize that and I never said signing these guys changes Murray's plan. The rebuild has started and what was done today was the plan all along and the team will get better from there, but all this tank talk is ridicules already. Just because we signed these players doesn't mean we will not still be a bad or learning team.

we have 13 forwards counting Ennis and 7 D. I doubt we sign anymore but a trade is possible.
