After the season starts . the new guys will be spreading the word about the team and
Buffalo in general. I'm not worried one bit. - cabin
I meant that in saying we're still short on top end/elite talent but it doesn't have to be Mceichel. If it is great if not, plenty of other options in the draft if we don't win the lottery.
And I agree, I'm not worried about FA attraction, as we get better more and more player will want to come play here. |

And ? I loaded and unloaded 30 buckets of stone . at 5:00 today. wings would be good about now . I'm already hot and sweaty. - cabin
Bought them from Priceright. After prepping them got 27 wings out of it. Covered in chili spices and hot sauce. 30 mins at 350 degrees in teh oven and 10 mins on the grill...
Good, but still trying to get them crispier |

Isles be fine!!!
I know you guys have a vested interest in where they will finish.
Most people or fans know are biggest concerns were goalie and defence.
Goalie is solved hopefully... but still need defence.
Defence isn't horrible... but not great.
They need a top 4 guy... just hoping they don't rush Reinhart too much!!!
Maybe a trade coming???
Chicago, Boston, still need to make some moves!!! - jimmc7722
Someone has been drinking a little too much islander kool aid. Face it man you guys are more likely to be a lottery team than a playoff team.

I read covering them in baking powder and having them sitting in open air in the fridge for a day helps the crispyness without drying out. I'm going to try it this weekend.. |

Homer mentioned yesterday or the day before that the belief in the organization was that they would be bad again next year, Murray said it in his press conference as well, doesn't expect to compete for a playoff spot next year. And he was pretty open about the sabres role in the 2015 draft when the lottery changes were announced. Not saying they're outright tanking but it still sounds like they hope to build through the draft at least for one more year. - Sabresfan-365
Here's what I take out of it and what I've been trying to say for a while... We were down right horrible last year 10 points or more I think out of 2nd to last place in the league way off in goals for. We added some compete and some scoring (all be it small dosage) but scoring none the less and also got excellent, excellent leadership. We had to spend 20 million to get to the floor and we did it the right way. Murray wants this team to compete and not be a doormat next year. I think also if we fielded a team similar to last year with the changes to the lottery fans would just get all worked up that we'd get McDavid only to be extremely disappointed that it didn't work out.. As long as we finish 3rd-5th worst we still have an excellent chance at Eichel or one of the other top players in next years draft...
Also there's the Islanders pick which who knows how that will turn out. |

Murray also said he would have to be blown away by an offer, so it's not likely he's going anywhere. |

Today's moves should make our improvement year (2015-16) much smoother. It's tough to see buffalo out of the bottom 5 this year but it's possible they could be out of the Eichel safety spot - 30th. Overall I'm ok with that. I'd love one more top 2 but worst case scenario is three 1st rd picks. We're good no matter what. |

Im sure he will be under a microscope next season. We suck next year and the next year we build were we need and not just scrubs. Still a year or 3 before the top prospects we got will be a difference .
imo of course |

If we finish 3-5 last we have a 0% chance at eichel. |

He is also not being paid to be a #1 so what the hell does it matter. If he keeps up his end of the season pace his contract will be fantastic |

I really liked the moves today but am not sure how the thought is that we are going to blow getting one of the top few picks next year. We brought in Moulson, who was here for most of last year (and replaced Vanek who played well prior to that), Gionta (who will be a solid role player and leader but is well past his prime as a top line scorer), Gorges (a solid defensive defenseman but a replacement to Ehrhoff, who logged the most ice time of all our D), McCormick and Meszaros (who will replace Tallinder / Sulzer and is not a great upgrade).
The young players who make the team, possibly Ristolainen, Zadorov, Reinhart, Grigorenko, Pysyk, Larsson are going to have growing pains and probably will not cause a dramatic increase in scoring.
We also replaced Miller with Neuvirth, which is a downgrade.
The Sabres are most likely to finish with the worst record in the league but are definitely moving in the right direction with the leadership and young talent throughout the system.
