I would 100% do the below tomorrow:
- Sign Ott
- Offer Selanne a 1yr 6MM deal
- Trade with NJD for Jagr
- Write Nick Lidstrom a blank check to be our player development coach. |

Good Point but those good teams always seem to find a way if the players are worth it. - buffalo 1
Often by jettisoning other players, who then become ufas, who we can try and sign. Said it the other day, I expect our busy UFA day to be Wednedsay on, and sure, we're looking at leavings, but I suspect well get some serviceable players. |

Max, less personal attacks from now on, please. - nfph
How is that an attack , it is a joke on how long this debate on Erhoff has been going now . He's gone enough already . Only 1 person on the other side of the argument at this point . It has become like an old Bra . Pointless.

same here Nf. With the talent we have in the prospects, anything could happen. What happens if they actually start scoring on a regular basis. |

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Winnipeg Jets didn't make the cut as Stastny camp shortens list of suitors today
So we are liked after all. |

As I've said before, I understand the ramifications that were involved. I'd still rather them get assets in return. The odds of him retiring in 2019 were low. It's little more than a "chicken little" scenario to me. - buffalofan19
glad your not the guy making the decisions then |

Why does everyone hate us ? Ex players and retired NHL'ers love it here . Heck even Scotty Bowman lives here . Players with looking to extend their career a couple more years would be what we need. - Maximum Signal
Its not about the area I don't think or the fans.Losing sucks and this team did it in spades last season. |

Putting 3 of the greatest positional players in the last 20 years on our payroll while still allowing us to lose most our of games? Sounds ideal to me. |

If you genuinely need me to explain it to you, a better policy going forward might be stop saying negative things about other posters. You've been given some short timeouts for it already. You're generally a smart poster and I look forward to reading your takes, but I'm asking very nicely to rethink how you treat other posters here. |

Yea because losing most of our games will really teach the kids how to play. |

Usually when we disagree, at least you make valid points..... This one you are off the deep end.
Imagine if LA had a 10 cap hit this season...... They don't win the cup. - sbroads24
Buffalo under no circumstances would they get penalized 10M in one year. 3M is the most in one year. |

I honestly don't think we will 2013-2014 bad next season. Glad we have the Islanders pick to fall back on. |

You're missing the point. The teaching will be done away from games. |

you saying the younger players won't learn anything playing with Selanne and Jagr? If that were true, we should trade all our prospects right now. If you can't learn anything playing with those two you don't deserve to play hockey |

2 to 3 years to get us to the next phase of the rebuild ? What is the problem with that . Fans get entertained . We are not making another historic run to 9th. - Maximum Signal
I am in for a rebuild. Please don't say fans are entertained. Go down to the arena. Its not fun.. Its a donation to the future. The funnest part is when the period ends and we get to go to the bar |

I have seen reports that Moulson could go back to The Islanders but if he chose them over us I'd be pretty pissed considering how they treated him and how he could play with a younger version of Taveres eventually... I wouldn't be shocked if we overpaid for Ott tomorrow and made him captain.. I know some of you don't want him and I'm honestly all right with him here but prefer Moulson wayyy more that beign said just a gut feeling Gionta resigns Orpik goes out west, we sign Ott and Moulson goes back to the Islanders or Montreal.. that would be worse case scenario but that's the current "buzz" right now |

Neither will come here , so your argument is pointless. I don't want 2- 40+ players on this team |

We differ in that opinion, I don't see any scenario where we have more points that the Islanders. Well I guess there is one, if Tavares only plays 10 or so games. |

Hate to tell you this but it is not being turned around for a few seasons . Majority of fans can deal with it . As long as they see a plan implemented. It is not even a good crop of free agents this year . Who has this free agency thing worked for ? They all end up getting bought out . And you can't even do that after this year. |

That's not how I understand it.
If he were to reitire before his contract is up, we pay the difference in what's left against our cap. I think the highest could be 10M and the lowest is 3. |

Well I think this will be a better team then last year altho not sure how much so but Id guess bottom ten in the draft pick come 2015.Nolan alone will have our boys playing hard and the lack of turmoil Terry P and company decided to create from the very start of the last season should help as well.At least this team can start the season with a clear positive direction from day one. |
