i really don't troll the islander fans. they either love or hate what snow is doing but when you try to engage them in any conversations about the direction of their team its like having a intelligent discussion with a foot. im all like "if your gm really cared about your team he would give up this years first" and islander fans are like "yo we a cup contender" and im all like "say what"

so what happens, they keep the pick and then trade up to get another 1st rounder. they could have given up this years 1st round pick and still had a 1st next year. now come 2015 they don't have any picks till late 2nd round or even 3rd. i don't see the islanders making any significant free agent splashes. if garth snow was actually trying to better his team and was in touch with reality he should have realized that 1. my team is inferior to most with many holes and 2. free agency is not gonna help us. its nothing personal against people who like hockey on the island or like the islanders, i think snow is a horrible gm.

I think if the islanders knew how bad things would play out July 1st they absolutely would have given is their 2014 pick and still could have traded back into the 1st like they did for Ho Sang. Now they have that dreaded pick hanging over their heads all year.

In like, a best case scenario and we finish last, they finish 3rd/4th last, we would get McEichel and Hanifin/Barzal, + the 31st and 33rd/34th pick.

the islander lost moulson/vanek and picked up corey conacher, brennan and skille in return. i see florida has gotten better, Edmonton has gotten slightly better. imo if nothing major is done to that team we might be in a race with them for dead last.
