Vanek might not have been the best player on this team but him getting traded is looking like the best thing to ever happen to the Sabres. With that and all the subsequent moves it might end up that Vanek got us McDavid. What a good guy.

It wouldnt surprise me if Tim Murray is just waiting to see if he pulls off his trade before signing Ott. If the trade goes through I think Ott has a better chance of being here to replace Stewart/Hodgson.
