I am uncertain about that. They may put Hodgson on Ennis' wing and put Moulson with Samson, who has more potential. - benny948
While I agree with you there Moulson is a top line player on this team and would probably only come here if he was guaranteed that. Plus.. I know it hasn't been too long but I've tried to block last season out of my mind.. but didn't Moulson play on Ennis's wing while he was here? |

I didn't hate his game when I was watching the Preds games... but to be honest I was drunk most of the time. So I have that going for me. |

dont wanna read too much into the ufas bing interested in coming here, the sabres are gonna be one of a few teams with extra scratch to spend, possibly even be open to overspend on the right player. its gonna be a strange summer - rover16
They have to get to the "floor", so over spend, they will. I would count on Moulson, and maybe a Vet DEF and maybe Gionta. That would be a nice way to mentor, and get to the floor... 2-3 years from now we can all smile, anything sooner is gravy on the spuds! |

We don't know if Ennis would even be the 1C by the middle of the year. Reinhart has a higher ceiling. Plus, Nolan has a tendency to shake his lines up. We will probably see both if he signs here. |

I don't think we'll be good next year but I'll be a lot happier if we get guys in here like Moulson, Gionta and Orpik instead of Scott, McBain, Tallinder and Sulzer. |

True but I doubt Reinhart is a number 1 center this year.. even if he deserves it they wont want to put him up against top competition off the bat. |

And while it can just be a pay day for someone, it helps us to get to mceichel...
Also a thought, we have 3 firsts next year. Does the lottery change give us a better chance? - hockeyhell80
bout the same. if we finish in 30th we still cant drop passed the second pick. this year the 30th place team had a 25% chance of winning the lottery, next year it will drop to 19-20%. the blues pick wont help us for the lottery. the real question is "how bad are the isles?". if they finish 25th, we have about the same odds as this year, if they finish 20th, our odds drop a little. i guess the important thing is that we cant drop below 2 if we finish in 30th. |

Orpik would complete the trifecta! Yes, they will have longer contracts for more money per, but the end game... Ooooh LA LA!
I'm all in!

Exactly! and they'd actually compete to win and have the skill to do so.. Sure we will win a few more games but I highly doubt it will impact if we finish in bottom 5 or not.. considering how far back we were from the 2nd last place team in terms of the standings and the complete unpredictability of the lottery I'd be pleased with an increased effort and results. |

Why not? We can't be having Psysk and Risto playing second pair minutes together. Yikes |

Right now with no signings it's
Myers Pysk, Weber, Ruhwidel? Maybe Risto maybe McCabe according to Murray today maybe even Zadorov... So we'll see.. I bet they bring in 1-2 vet D who aren't bums and who have some much needed grit to the D core that has lacked it for a few years now.. |

That last word described the season anyways lol and if I know Murray and Nolan, they won't have their young guys out there to dry, my guess is more of a offensive producer than Gleason |
