Steve Ott is a great character guy that should be snagged quick. There is serious interest from multiple teams. Buff not one I believe I'm just going with what a source said regarding Ott. I think he would be great regarding the culture of kids going forward.

Who knows if this Sabres hater is right or not but interesting news none the less..

A 1 year offer is kinda insulting, especially if its coming from the worst team in the league...

I'd try to get some 2yr deals going. Offer top dollar.

We need to spend 20 million... where do you think the players are going to come from... Ott is a leader who liked being here and Murray and Nolan likes him a lot.. What do you think. Murray all ready said he knows he'll have to overpay for free agents so yeah I do see us overpaying.

Exactly my point. He was built up as a gritty leader. If we can sign him to a 2 or 3 year deal. Whatever but he will want longer than that.

Ted Nolan bashing! The guy has never had a talented hockey player to work with besides Hasek.

You know, besides the damn goalie, i'd like to see what Ted could do with some talent. An actual, honest-to-God first line, etc.

McKee in his prime during that 05-06 playoff run when healthy was an elite defenseman.. Him being hurt is a massive reason why we didn't win the cup that year.

Imo, McKee was not elite. Damn good stay at home D, one of the better ones, but like I said he's no Keith, Doughty, Seabrook. Those are the elite, imo.

Not saying he was his whole career but if you remember as vividly as I do the 05-06 team he was a top 20 d-man in the NHL that year, and his massive contract with the Blues the next year reflects that much. If you need more evidence of that look how badly we needed him in that Carolina series.. we would have easily held up the cup that year with him healthy.. Maybe a few of the other D healthy too of course
