Not saying he was his whole career but if you remember as vividly as I do the 05-06 team he was a top 20 d-man in the NHL that year, and his massive contract with the Blues the next year reflects that much. If you need more evidence of that look how badly we needed him in that Carolina series.. we would have easily held up the cup that year with him healthy.. Maybe a few of the other D healthy too of course - bluengold12
I'll give you that.
The Blues regretted that contract in a hurry, though, didn't they?

And this is the trap. A lot of people in the past weren't great players. They were simply good players who had a great year or two. |

Wanted to post this as a laugh.. Obviously its not true nor would any team in their right minds agree to it but... I thought it would be a funny post from a guy who is obviously an attention grabber posing as a rumor guy..
"BREAKING*RUMOR**: #Sabres have offered Myers+Grigorenko+2nd rounder to the #Avs for Landeskog+Briere.
It's up to Colorado now."

Ehrhoff........ - sbroads24
Never called him a great player. He's still good enough not to let walk for nothing, especially when you consider the $12 million disposal fee they paid. |

No one wanted to give up anything good, if a team made an offer Murray couldn't refuse, I'm sure he would have taken the risk and traded him.
Problem is there are a few d- men available as good as him to drive down his value |

Exactly. Murray offered him at a discount, and was lowballed even more. |

Then keep him until the market changes. It always does. He didn't need to be moved immediately. Bad attitude narrative or no bad attitude narrative. |
