Well, Gionta does have ties to the area, so I suppose it's possible. What makes me think that it won't happen, is that Murray isn't interested. They're trying to get bigger. And Gionta is pretty much a peanut.

Murray may not have a choice. He's got $20 million he needs to spend, most of which isn't going to be covered by returning Free Agents. The only players that are going to be interested are ones the Sabres significantly outbid others for, or players that nobody else will offer a contract to.

Orpik (2/3 years at 5M)

We've gotten 8 inches of rain in a week... 50 mph wind each day.. i lost my trampoline to a storm yesterday... and my man cave flooded with 2 inches of water...

I think that is just so that they can go back to another team and say "well we can make 5.5M with Buffalo and you are offering 4.0M" Can we do better?

Or for them to weigh their options and say "well I can get the contract i want in Buffalo and then get traded to a contender at the deadline... yea those 55 games in Buffalo can't be that bad right?"

That would be about 15M alone... Ennis supposedly has asked for 5.5M per year.. I bet he settles for around 4.5-5M... Foligno will get about a 1M or so.. plus a few other RFAs.

I feel like that's just their way of using us for leverage though. It's all just a ploy to get another team to pay them more.

The agents all know that we have plenty of cap space and that Terry has deep pockets.

I figured. It's just too early in the morning for me to have to do math.

I know so many people have been worried about it, but I don't really get why. We need 6-7 guys to fill out the roster (including our RFAs). 20 mil isn't exactly daunting when you look at that.
