$22M of $70M for 2 guys is a lot for one team to take on. Not sure where all the revenue will come from to get the cap higher than that.

I know he's got un believable skill and has scored clutch goals....I wouldn't give Kane 88mil over 8 years.

They don't have to clear space until next year to begin with. Since they both have deals for this year currently.

However, if Hossa retires, it hurts them because of the cap recapture penalty they'd have to deal with.

Basically, Georges is an upgrade over Weber, IMO. At 29, fits the veteran age for us pretty well.

Gionta... like the signing, will set a good example as a guy who had to work harder than most to carve out a good NHL career. Maybe he's got his eye on a Rochester coaching job in 4 years, who knows.
