Sorry I could not resist , since he is from WNY . Some believe that is where the glue is found .

Wonder what it was that pissed Erhoff off so bad ? Maybe he just got sick of losing night after night.Dude logged big mins as a top pairing and on the point for the pp.Better hope Myers is physically healed and Zads is ready for the big time imo. - buffalo 1
He bought in to the Sabres being a Cup contender when he signed, not a rebuild |

I was told earlier today if Murray is only willing to go 2 years, I doubt Moulson comes back. He wants to play in Buffalo but wants security. I would go 4 years for Moulson. - SABRES 89
Orpik, Gionta and player via trade are my guesses for TM's moves this week to get to the floor. |

Yeah, "didn't want to be here" is turning into the typical "everyone hates Buffalo" narrative, which is probably more along the lines of "would rather be winning, which can only happen someplace else". - buffalofan19
Its a shame either way.Great player,perfect contract.Oh well I guess. |

Pat LaFontaine did say he wanted to make this place attractive to local born players. |

Ehrhoff was far from great and his contract sucked, glad he's gone. Another bad deal from Darcy. |

you know i don't normally take that side but when you consider his stance on only giving out 1/2 year deals and wanting vets, good chance those are the two that call back. |

Love to have Orpik here but hes got a lot of hard miles on him and not sure how much Stanley Cup run Orpik is left in him now.No on Gionta best days are behind him as well. |

Thats the point. If i wanted those players for right now, I'd say sign stastny and Moulson to 6 year deals and break the bank for Spezza. Not interested in the "Leaf approach" |

The contract was fine. The recapture was the landmine, the recapture which was put into place after the deal was signed. The league making that retroactive was as bushleague as it gets. |

Agree to disagree and his icetime would say otherwise. |

Not trading Ehrhoff is about as clear of a sign that they are tanking as you can get. They can talk all they want, hide behind a much less than likely apocalypse scenario all they want, and use whatever buzz words they want, but letting a very tradable asset walk for nothing is a clear sign they don't intend on winning many games this year. |

The recapture became part of the contract when it was put in place and the league was looking to end contract circumventing, perfectly ok with the rules involved. |

Retroactively applying a rule, which you knew was easily manipulated in the first place is bush league, and something only a second rate organization would do. |
