I would think none to be honest but it does help getting the rebuild off in the right direction. Like i said before, it's what they were planning on doing and this is a very good start. Still not a playoff team.

I could be wrong but all today did was prepare us better for the future as far as how to build as a team and teach the younger guys how to be a professional. We will be better to watch but I don't think it gets us many more wins. Depth is still a huge issue up front and on defence and our goaltending is less that ideal.

In a rebuild such as this, taking on additional contracts longer than 3 years should be looked at like cancer, especially when the player is over 30 years old. Granted, the Ehrhoff buyout made that impossible, but I felt that was taken care of with the Gorges trade.

Right, and that is my point. Moulson will be around when things turn but Gionta was brought in to show people how to get there. I absolutely love the move. We are still going to be really, really bad next year (and I am good with that).

So what do you prefer? We have zero veterans on the team in 3 years? That is not a realistic approach. If we have 70/30% young guys in 3 years we are doing things right. Moulson is a guy who wants to be here and has scored 30 plus goals. I love the move.

First of all, I highly doubt he will. You can play the "what if" game with just about anybody.

Even so, if it gets them out of the basement, then yes, I would say it would. If this team "competes" for 8th place, they've put themselves at least another decade from winning a championship.
