They did get 3 blue chip prospects out of dacolle, hosang and Colberg but yeah I think we are both equally horrible teams for this upcoming season. Difference is buffalo has way more, better prospects and still has 2015 draft to add to our team. Islanders have to go through 2015 draft with no 1st and a late 2nd. It's just not good. Also having to ice guys who were not good enough to crack our cruddy squad is not a good sign. Brennan, conacher

I'm optimistic about us being bad again but drafting more high end talent, your optimistic about a team going from last to 8th.

We have different visions of how we want this team built, but that doesn't mean either side is delusional or wrong, just different philosophies. I must've mentioned it at least once but it seems those taking the draft approach are some of the younger ones on these boards and those taking the win now approach are on the other side of 30.

It's just a viewpoint, neither is truly right or truly wrong and neither is reflection of one's optimism of the team. In reality, we are all looking for the same end goal here.

Usual disagreement about term/$ and how good it makes immediately but I don't think that anyone has a real issue with the players brought in, it's about what was expected.

He got to the floor and didn't something crazy like sign Orpik to 5 year deal and give him a NTC (laughed out loud writing that).

Overall I'd say he did well for himself, again I personally wouldn't have given out contracts longer than 3 years but I'm over it at this point.
