So if the avs aren't signing Stastny could they be a potential trading partner for spezza? - 6Karlsson5
Duchene and Mckinnon on the team already, I'd guess no. |

I'm more interested in Jokinen at this point, only because he's a shoutout specialist and Ottawa lost quite a few points last year in shootouts. Actually Ottawa has been bad in shootouts for awhile now. Maybe Jokinen could teach the Sens players a few tricks.
As for Havlat...he was my favorite player when he was a Senator. Frustrating as hell sometimes but if he can be had dirt cheap, he may prove worthwhile. |

No idea where Stastny is going. But, if I had a bet it would be to the Rangers. |

He's listed as a center on hockey db, and the Avalanche web site. |

There have been ongoing conversations between the Sens and Avs. There is potential for a multi player deal. I think both teams have to see where they come out at the end of the next couple of days depending alon successful acquisitions.
Both teams are on a budget well below the cap. Sens do have some money they are required to spend or Eugene would never do it in a million freakin' years....unless it somehow allowed him to one-up Alfie. - Cup 06

you have a good point, but think he looking for a cup contending team. I say we should go for bolland if he's available for the right price, i truly think he will have a great season next year with the team he signs. |

True but they tried to sign stastny so obviously having 3 good centres isn't a problem with avs management |

no....that's not good hockey analysis by you...he could
hardly skate before his injury...he's gonna get a lot of money from someone...no way the Sens spend anything close to what he wants on a player like
him.. |

Sens think Stastny is going to the Blues. Avs,Hawks,Rangers and Stars should still be in the Spezza bidding. |

like i said if the price is right, he a gamble i would be ready to take the gamble on him, also he was on pace to be a 40 to 50 points season before he got injured, idk about you but that sure beat's mm9 total from last year that ottawa is trying to resign. oh and his skating is-int much different then mark stone, plus he has great positioning. and don't forget this team is going to pay greening 2.65m a year for about 20 points max this season, so add about 1 milion to 1.5 on greening contract and you get almost triple the points then greening got this year. |

he'll likely only get 2.5-3 mil, and is genuinely thought of as a disappointment.....if he comes in and puts up 15g / 30pts, it's a bargain - sensarmy_11
thought of as a draft bust. Still considered a valuable player. Coming off his best season and a strong deep playoff run performance.
macarthur was misused in TOR, and thus undervalued for the player he really was. Pouliot is not undervalued for the player he is |

he played on Stastny's wing because COL's deep at centre. ROR played wing the whole season, too.
he's a natural centre. Drouin played on HIS wing in junior |

Talking battle of ontario, I would try to pry some UFAs from Toronto. I'd think about signing Kulimen (LW/RW) or Raymond (LW) |

I don't want to break anyone's excitement (oddly I got some) but here's what I see happening this week (tmr):
Sens will let Hemsky, Michalek, Corvo, Kassian all walk
Sens MIGHT trade Spezza and if they don't ... it'll drag on and he will get traded before the season for little value (like the heatley deal).... that wasn't a terrible deal but certainly wasnt the value for back to back 50 goal player |

Ehrhoff is looking for 4-5 years at $5M per Bob McKenzie reporting on the NHL Network.
Would ya?
Sounds like Niskanen is asking 7 years 6 per. Aiming high but probably ballpark to what he'll get. - Cup 06
5 years at 7 years is the MAX i would give. Even then that's a stretch.
Man all these buyouts, I'm glad Murray is throwing money at free agents.
(not like there's money to throw anyways) |

Stone is very underrated top-6 player.
2nd line: (from Trade/Michalek/Pouliot)-Zib-Stone - TheCalSen
top 6 in the AHL is different than top 6 in the NHL |
