Yep, I'll be watching to see what Emery does. If he goes quickly to someone else then I think we'll see a goalie pick quickly. But if Emery doesn't go fast then I think they wait. Just my opinion. - FlyersGrace
Agreed, if no one has interest in Razor as a #1 or 1A, I think they re-sign him for something like 2 years, 2 million, 1 mil cap hit. |

I'm pretty sure Nashville is where he will end up, as long as he is willing to go there. - BiggE
I just hope they can move him without retaining money. For the cap floor teams, they're only concerned about actual salary. He's due to make an average of $3.62M per year. |

Ok. Well i'll remeber this quote when we sign someone who can get us 4-6 goals and 12-15 points to a 1.20 million dollar deal. Yuo are ok with it.
I am just saying if Holmgren did this would be killing him. Just shows other teams do things as well. Not saying I agree with the signing or not. Just shows ever team makes sigings you question. - J35Bacher
I really hate when people put words in my mouth. Please tell me where in my post did I say that I was ok with it?? All I said, was that Thorburn is a better player than Shelley. That's it. |

Possibly affecting the Predators activity in free agency is the $13 million check they have to scratch to Shea Weber today.

I am thinking the bonus was the problem. Now once it paid I would really try to pounce quick. I would try and get infront of the center market before guys start getting signed. Just in case someone like Richards doesn't get what he wants from, just say the Islanders and then tries to get Nashville involved as leverage and tying things up. |

I don't think Nashville will require us to eat money, 3.62M is pretty reasonable for a 2nd line center, who will play on their 1st pp unit and I doubt they are giving the Flyers much more than a 4th rounder to get him. |

i'm feeling pretty positive after the draft, heading into FA......but i cannot help feeling 'some kind of way' when i read that the flyers have no servicable "grit" guys waiting in the wings. aren't the late round picks tailor made for going after some players like this who can be groomed into those roles like garbutt and rousell? |

As would I. Now if they could also move Streit and his entire contract and then sign Erhoff, I would be on cloud 9! |

The Flyers have some grit. They have simmonds and schenn and l. schenn and giroux plays with some grit. Also watch Laughton as he is one of those gritty two way centers. I think they are fine |

I can imagine that phone call from Hexy.
"Good morning, David. How are you?"
"Well, I just cut a $13M check because of your team's OS. Other than that, just great!" |

Which team is looking at Emery's performance and thinking, he looks like a #1 who can play 60 games? Or even a 1A who can play 40? |

So your saying it might not be the day in which Nashville chooses to help the Flyers by acquiring Vinny!
- landros 2
In all seriousness, I don't think it will have any impact. The owners have budgeted for it and I truly believe Weber would be playing for another franchise by now had the Flyers not made that offer.
I just find it a bit coincidental if the VL deal does actually go down. |

Hexy's response: "heck Dave, I offered you Rosehill, a 7th rounder, Lauridsen and Clarkie's spitoon yesterday for him, not my fault if you don't recognize a good deal when you see it....So Vinnie for your 2015 1st right, we got a deal?"

Late June to early July is the time of year where NHL teams work hard to clear out existing albatross contracts so they can sign new players to albatross contracts they'll be trying to get rid of in another summer or two. - bmeltzer
Fantastic. Possible the best line ever written on this site. |

my comment was in response to bill's perspective on going after ott and the flyers not having a guy like that in the system to bring in cheap, like dallas did. |

Can always add grit at the TDL (in the form of Ott, or somebody else)... right now, I'd be worried more about becoming a better possession and defensive team at evens... need 4 lines worth of NHL players to make that happen (sorry Zac, Rosy). |

Most likely no one, which is why I think he re-signs here by July 3rd or so. |
