I like those in theory.. but who are your 7th and 8th Dmen? Because Timonen is pretty much worn down and worn out, and Grossman is a cringe-worthy hit away from being out with a knee injury for weeks... - WarriorHockey21
I'd sign a vet UFA to be my 7th and my eighth would depend on who is being replaced. For Grossmann it would be Lauridsen, for Timonen it would be Ghost or Hagg. |

So we find him a drug dealer...
In all seriousness I don't think Hextall can fix everything this off season. It's just not realistic. I'd be happy with a steady cheap back-up goalie, and an improvement to our 4th line. Then give Hextall some time and space to shore up the D and find us some wingers. |

If Hexy is really going to follow the LA moddle, someone like Schenn is probably the slowest guy you will see on the team.
And I like Grossman and think he can still work on this team.
FWIW, I would rather move Streit |

Flyers should deal Lecavalier (and most likely a draft pick) to Tallon and Florida for Upshall. Not only do you save cap but the term is great... Upshall could walk after the year. He has the ability to play up and down the lineup, is light years ahead of Vinny in skating, can play two-way hockey, and still has 20-goal potential. I'd do that in a second if it's a legitimate rumor.
As for free agents... I know MDZ has fallen off a cliff but he could bring an element the Flyers don't really have: a true puck moving blueliner. Yes he makes boneheaded mistakes in his own zone and turns the puck over too much, but so does the rest of their Dcorps (except they can't skate or create offense). The kid is still only 24 and could turn out to be one of the biggest bargains out there. Give him PP time and he could reach double digit goals and 30-40pts. It's worth the risk if he could be had for about $1.5mil on a one year deal. He had two solid years when he was 21-22, so maybe he'll learn a little more at 25.
As for the Ott rumors... I'd love to add his grit and leadership, at the right price. If he's asking 3-4, no thank you. But if he can be had for 2.3-2.7 I'd certainly consider it. If they acquire Upshall though I'd think twice about targeting Ott. I love this time of year and can't wait to see what Hextall has up his sleeve. |

Guys I may check on today:
TJ Brennan
TJ Galiardi
Leo Komarov
Chad Johnson
Thomas Griess
Peter Meuller
I can't name any bigger ones until I move some salray. If Ducks want a rugged stay at home d then Grossmann would be perfect. Maybe you can get someone like Matt Beleskey or Patrick Maroon back as they can fill in on third line and Beleskey seemed to do well riding shotgun with getzlaf and perry. Or maybe a Sami Vatanen - J35Bacher

I'd rather not throw away a 2nd/3rd round draft pick for a question mark if I don't have to. |
