I wonder how many season ticket holders are going take Linden up on his word to issue a refund should they not be happy with the direction of the team?

The optics would have been a lot better if they had managed to sign Iggy today as well. They have 10 more days to make one last impression on them before then.

- PetrolSexual

I think by doing this they are postponing the rebuild and might be more determental in the long run.

I think the Miller signing probably hurt them on that front. I think Lack as a starter would have been popular. Huge fan favourite

It's not that I think he has no good years left, its that I don't think he's better than what we already had, and having him here long term means that we have to move a goalie. I don't believe that you have to "get" something for a player or you are a failure (as a GM), sometimes the value to your organization is in removing a problem employee, but Marstrom is pretty much what we got for Luongo, and Lack has proved he as talent, albeit in a limited number of games. The organization "sold" us on Lack as the future starter, now we have new management and they are telling us Lack isn't the future starter. Ok, Miller is here, I can accept it, but now show me you have a plan to fix the real problem, a severe lack of scoring.
- 1970vintage

Straight up we were not going to do it through free agency this year. Iggy would have been nice but Jebus this was a poopty FA day. The best we did was moving Kesler and the draft day. It only gets better. Benning has done better with what he had to work with than I thought possible. All anyone seems to focus on is Miller and how $hitty this is for us. Just because it wasn't the improvement we wanted doesn't mean it isn't an improvement. I am not saying I liked it but Jebus everyone on here is so negative. The sever lack of scoring has to be done through trade and youth fact.

Hard to say. There has been a lot of turnover, but not a lot of substance to that turnover. We still aren't skilled enough in the top 6 to compete with teams like Anaheim, LA, San Jose, and now Dallas as well.

Sooooo, usually when you start a sentence with "not trolling" it is actually trolling. But on this one occasion, I agree

For the record, I think we're gonna open it up and we'll score. We just need a goalie to make some saves cuz he's gonna get left all alone.......often.

I'm not sold that any of the additions will actually translate to an improvement in scoring. I think there will be a natural rebound from the statistical anomaly. I'm also not sold that a new coach and his new system will be any more successful than the last coach and his poopty system. When you think about it, they actually sound like the same system, with the slight difference in that the forward don't all collapse under the hash marks in the defensive zone.

A lot can happen between now and game 1 of the next season but we are looking at scoring even less now...clearly.

The only thing I like about the Miller signing is that the Canucks will surely get something for him before his contract is up. Otherwise, the Canucks look like they are preparing for a strategy of winning games with scoring fewer goals.

The Canucks still dont have a future #1 C in the pipeline.

I guess next off season will be better. Benning can only do so much this summer. The Canucks are not a better team than last season as of yet. Lost both our top scoring forward and D man. They had to go but not replacing the production would look like Benning is with tank nation.

Until they get a proper top six forward group there is no "answer".

When I think of Torts' system I don't really think of forced turnovers. More like wasted efforts
